so for this one we need to turne time back about 10yrs, i was a younger man and had just moved in to my first apartment, 2 bedroom so i hadde some space to play with, when a smoking buddy of mine came to me and explained he had 4 super silver haze plants that wher about 3-4 weeks old that he whould have to throw out due to him beeing forced to go away on a state sponsored wacation, i knew Nothing about growing annything but i wanted to hive the pore babys a shot at life, so i got my hands on an old vhs featuring a known caracter with dreadlocs, shades and a black baret and started to learn what i could. I got my hands on a used (and riped) 4x4 tent and a of Brand 600w hid with a parabolic reflector, set the whole thing up in my smaler south facing bedroom, in the middel of summer , the girls arived and i poted them in to some soil i dug up from a field not far from my house, and i was off trying my best to love them to death! Watering every other day gave the thrips in the soil optimum growing conditions and they thrived, after a fewe weeks it was so bad that i was shure the plants whold die as they looked like shitt, but i soldierd on, fighting thrips and heat of 34+c with limited to no knowledge and a insane amount of fertilizer and sticky traps, a feve weeks in to flower i manged to save up enugh cash to buy a portable ac to help with the crazy temps, and me and the girls limped on until a weekend wher i had to go out of town. I got a nother buddy of mine to swing buy to fred them so they whold not starwe in my 3 days abcence, the por guy managed to knock of the exaust from the ac of the first day, and when i returned the temp in the room was close to 50c, the room smeled strong of hay and inside my tent, a massacer had ocured…. I got to about 6 weeks of flower and ended up with nothing but knowledge of what not to do….thinking back im amazed i Even started a 2 grow  

My first attempt started with a handful of seeds from a bag i smoked. Most likely Mexican brick weed. i got 8 seedlings to pop and grow in small nursery pots on the back porch.

I was a landscaper at the time so i had many poor plants i brought home from work to save and fix up my yard.

the seedlings were about 6 inches tall when the local sheriffs deputies kicked in my door,  looking for the previous tenant.  they had been on my back porch to ensure no one ran from the back.

they never said anything about the seedlings, but i was afraid they would come back later and charge me for them ( i was not on good terms with the local PD) so i destroyed them.  the Sheriffs deputies came back 2 more times early in the morning looking for this same guy.

 I learned then i needed to try and grow them off my property.

Mine was a bag seed from some Mexican Sativa that was just about all you could find back in the day. Gardening had always been a minor hobby of mine so of course I was super confident in this plan but there were many factors I didn’t know about. I planted my bag seed around the first of October outdoors near where I hunted. The plan was for me to check on the 3 plants weekly during hunting season. It all sounded fine to me, just a guy out on a weekly hunt for small game, nothing unusual where I live. All I did was scrape the soil to clear a small area, break up the packed soil, and plant 3 beans about 30 feet apart (9-10 meters). It was in a clear cut area that my hunting area intersected with far away from any paved roads. The seeds sprouted and grew so I fertilized with fish emulsion and watered every week. Well, when you plant in the fall the plants go into flower right away and I didn’t know this. I also had little knowledge of what this plant was supposed to look like either so when stretch started and pistils grew I thought something was wrong. We chopped them down, dried and even smoked what little was there and it tasted horrible. The fish emulsion taste was everywhere 🤢. It would be a long time before I’d try again. Next time was in a greenhouse and my timing was still way wrong, planting in late fall without any supplemental light. The second time was without the fish so what little yield I had was much better but still only a few grams. What we did get off the second attempt was incredibly strong compared to the street weed at the time so eventually I arrived at Percy’s to hone the skill many years after the first attempt 

My first seeds were from Albanian brick weed. I had already ordered and received some seeds from the Netherlands, but i wanted to try first with the shity seeds. Getting mail from Holland wasn't very cool, very risky. I planted the first seed in a pot in my living room, near a window, so my roommate would get accustomed with the whole idea. It vegged throughout  winter, did not go into flower because of the household lighting. At spring time i ordered my first tent setup and flowered that plant with 5 more of the same brick weed seeds. The original plant produced hay weed , no potency at all, but two of them were pretty decent. Jorge Cervantes videos and the Sea of Green video series with Hans were my instruction manual. Back to back i planted the Dutch seeds, Crimea Blue was the first Dutch strain i grew from Barneys Farm. Got powdery mildew in veg, sprayed with sulfure, the whole house smelled like rotten eggs for 10 days. PM was treated and i got a harvest, that first quality home-grown weed was a revelation, never stopped since then.

I am liking this discussion very much . My first grow , was with some seeds I got from an old Jamaican guy . He was a lovely man an always very dapper and smart .

So anyways I had a few seeds in a bag of weed . I planted 3 and only one sprouted . It's grew to 6ft but it turn out to be male . I remember smoking the leaves and flower , rough smoke and gave me a headache. 

I am reminded of the time I first brought some seeds

It's was the early 90's seeds where nearly impossible to get , most of the plants we grew where from clone from a friend , skunk , northern lights 

So a trip to Amsterdam was booked for me and my then girl. Its was her birthday to so while we was there I brought her a rabbit dildo as well as 200 quids worth of seeds from sensi seed bank.

All good until we flew home .

Customs ! Well my girlfriend decided to keep the klm lunch box because it had a pretty pattern on it . So as we going though Customs the women there says

Are you psyclogically trying to say there is nothing in your bags as your carrying an empty box ? 

I laughed and said your thinking to hard love .

So they go through my bags and find my seeds , and say we have to confiscate them as we don't want to encourage you .. fuckers

They then find my ex girlfriend present . She not happy

So not only did I lose my seeds but I got loads of grief off the girlfriend cos it was my fault she was embarrassed by them finding her dildo . I remember telling her to stick it up her ass and she said she would. 

Oh well ..

The first time I grew was in 2004.  I had just moved out of NY and met a grower in my current state. To say I sold on growing would have been an understatement.  Fem seeds were just getting started and quite expensive so I ordered 4 10 packs of reg seeds from Nirvana(Papaya, Aurora Borealis, MarocX Afghan, and Whitw Rhino. I planted 20 seeds(I had no clue what I was doing) and learned how to sex them. I wound up having 12 fems and got about 3 oz out of it. I grew them in a walk in closet in my appt and was so scared to get caught.  Definitely an experience. Thank goodness I had found ICMAG back in the day
