i recently heard a story about a women who was walking her dog. Supposedly the dog ate some cannabis it found and ended up high as shit. Lucky dog right? There was some confusion on whether that could happen without it being decarboxylated.
Well the answer is yes it can happen. Dogs do not synthesize THC-A the same as humans. We need to decarboxylate cannabis (normally with heat 200-245 F or so) to remove the carboxyl (the A part) to make it psychoactive, Thus transferring tetrahydrocannabinolic acid into the same minus the acid chain which all love know as THC not the afore mentioned THC-A.
Our (human) liver does not do this however dogs are the lucky ones not needing to go through this process. They can get high without removing the acid carboxyl chain. SO raw cannabis will effect them, too bad this does not happen with us.
If your dog eats your weed, a quick fix is feeding them CBD which will counter effect the cannabis. Sounds crazy but that's science. Have a good day

@gixxerific Thanks for sharing that. Dogs also have way more receptor sites, making them far more susceptible to dosing, and of course, they generally weigh far less than an adult human.

I made the mistake of letting my dog have a sick baby chick once. I didn't realize she had gone and gotten it. Once she tasted it she wanted more. It wasn't her fault but mine, so punishing her won't have done any good, she didn't understand. So if they haven't had streak, don't feed it to them and you won't have a problem. So what, now I have to start growing for my Dog too??? But officer, this is my dogs, not mine. 🤣
