How anonymous is posting online?

Unless you use a VPN (and even then in most cases as VPN provider will have logs too) there will be a list of your activity with your Internet provider...also every website you visit will have the IP Address from your device in their log...Facebook is a data mining site so all information posted is tagged with metadata which would identify your device

There is no such thing as anonymity on the internet, unless using a phone not registered to you and using top up vouchers...even then, your 'location' is identifiable with triangulation of signal from mobile masts...but not your identity 😉

This is one of the reasons we dont allow commercial grows...as far as personal goes, the relevant authorities have 'better' crime to investigate so leave us Percys alone...thats the hope anyway

It doesnt matter what you do, everything you do online has a record. And, if the powers that be, really wanted to, they can track any one down. 

This is one of the reasons we stay a Personal Growers only site. We all only grow our own weed, for personal use, we do not sell, we do not buy, we do not exchange, we do not grow stupid amounts of weed. We only do personal use. Even in countries that grow legally. 

This keeps us under the radar! 

You are doing absolutely nothing wrong by growing your own personal supply of cannabis. And there are many other bigger, and easier fish to catch then guys like us. So I wouldn't be too concerned about watching weed channels and visiting weed sites. I used to be really paranoid about it. But really, unless they have a good reason to start searching into your online history, they wont look into it. Just stay personal, and stay safe.

Of course take whatever precautions you feel necessary to stay anonymous as much as possible. But as long as you keep it Percy, you will be safe 

I would like to think VPN provider like to keep there user's data anonymous or there ratings will drop.

The other advantage of a vpn is you can get a lot more shows/ films on sites like Netflix 

When you use a public WiFi, it's easy to get everything off your computer but vpn stops this !! ( use my  hot spot and I will hack your laptop/phone).

Most growers get caught because they give out the person information online or tell friends and family about there grow, spent the last 10 years on the grow forums and growing a good amount of weed, every 2-3 months for the last 20 years.

If you are very concerned you can use vpn to a proxy server then jump to Percy's. I'm sure it could be tracked with enough effort but those two steps would make it a lot more difficult. I do everything possible to mask my identity for safety so if someone has no need to know exactly who I am, then they don't. That might change if the laws change but "might" is the important word. Do I really want everyone knowing where I live and that I just put a pound of trimmed weed in the cupboard, probably not...  My FB and Insta are anonymous created with email created long ago for just such a purpose.
