Hey everyone, been a little while since I’ve been on Percy’s, but nice to be back!
I want to ask the question, how do you choose your seeds?
There is so much out there, constantly different ones being released and it’s really quite mind boggling how much choice there is.
So how do you go about choosing what you’re gonna get and grow? Are you a latest hype person? Stick to what you know? Only after old school? Go by price? Loyal to certain breeders? You know exactly what you’re looking for in your bud and try pick a strain based on that?
Also as a UK grower is there anywhere that’s a go to for UK people looking to stock up for their next grow?
ive used seedsman, grizzly seeds, pips and royal queen seeds in the past but just seems like there’s more and more choice whenever I go have a look!
@greentomato Welcome back man! Good to see you! For me personally, I just have the wife choose lol. If there is a strain I like, I would sometimes regrow some of those but most the time im popping new shit that I haven't grown before. TBH, its all the same.... meaning the plants are always different lol. You pop some beans and hope for the best! I have had highly respected seed banks turn out shit, and nobodys turn out awesome, and vice versa. You never know what youre gonna get so just get what you think you would like and grow it 
Using highly respected seed banks is best just becuase you have a better chance of good stable genetics, and less chance of a hermie I like to grow things with lots of flavour so that's always my main selling point when the wife pics a strain to grow

@greentomato Hey mate, good to see you. For me its all about the flavour, I like eucalypt, pine, citrus and berry, I also like it to smell dank, so heavy terp profiles and I usually lean a little more towards the resin producing strains because nothing is prettier than a flower that looks like its been dipped in sugar 🤣 well that and I have been known to enjoy the odd extract here and there lol. I say choose what you think you would like the flavour of and make sure its from a reputable breeder for genetic stability. Either way you go you generally wont be disappointed, most seed banks have descriptions about the strain and they are generally a long winded way of saying "this one taste like strawberry and gets you high AF" so I read through them and pick based on my flavour preference. I also don't immediately go for the highest thc strains either, I like a good mix and lower thc strains are good for when I need relief but need to pay at least a little attention to the task at hand lol. So yeah good question though, its interesting to see why others choose their seeds like they do.
I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.
Personally Il shop around put a few strains I like the sound off in my basket then individually go through the list and check on seedfinder and grow diaries and on Percy's to who's grown it before if the grow duration Is correct (more or less) does it grow smell taste like the breeder says, is it stable (what generation are they bred to) are there any reports of Hermies etc just a big quality control checklist for me personally
I have a couple of strains that are proven for pain relief and taste good that are always in my cupboard, so they are grown periodically. After that it's trying new things to look for others I want to grow all the time too. Always hunting for that 9/10 and 10/10 cultivars with flavor and effect being the final deciding factors. I hate seed shopping too because as we all know, you frequently spend more than you planned to before the order is done.
