Hey everyone, I've got two seedlings that popped up with the seed shell's stuck to the leaves. I carefully removed one (in the picture) but the leaves are stuck together pretty good... Should I leave it alone or try to open the leaves? It doesn't look like it will open on it's own but this is my first grow so I'm not sure what I should do.
If you look carefully, you will see the remains of a membrane on the end of the leaves (that little brown bit ;)) If you are careful, you can remove it...I have this issue too, cant leave them alone until I see the cotyledons...you can add a drop of water beforehand to soften it but I find they come off of you gently scrape it with a fingernail
Worked great! Thanks for the advice! I feel much better now
Hehe, no worries...its still a stressful one for me and I've been doing this for years, lol...I've pulled a few out of the soil in the process but it doesnt usually bother them
