Has anyone successfully grown indoors off grid? Currently I have a purpose built room with solar and a telsa 2 Powerwall. So far my last 2 harvest have been free with the sun and battery but seeing if anyone else has done something like this.

100% this is possible, we run solar panels on the main house and our power bills are rarely more than a few dollars, under $10 in fact a month and that's including running the entire house and grow room(i have a metric shit ton of electronics lol) I don't have a battery yet on the house but am looking into it.
I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.

@bubblehok best part was last grow the electricity company paid me for my excess solar. Wasn't much, like maybe 5 Dolla bucks but still lol.

I'm working on number of panels and batteries required to power mine. Can't find a lot of folks to ask about powering a grow room. LOL So yes any info would be great. I thought I'd start with the grow room first and get it off grid and go from there.
I think we should address this and make a new ongoing section here at Percy's for these topics. I think this is just the beginning. So I think you'll be getting a solar set-up along with your light if don't don't already have one in the future. I don't know if we can get around the electric inspectors like in the UK, but it's a start. My electric company sends me a report, ever month of my neighbors usage and my usage, so far I'm fucking winning!! I have the most points and consumption!! WOOWHO!! My little garden, in my little house that is heated with gas, and they keep yelling at me that I'm using all the electric and they send me a detailed print-out of everything in my house and how much electric it uses. It like they can walk the wires in my house. They say I use a lot on lighting. 🤣 But they say nothing about 3-phase power in my shop and the 20 8ft florescent and LED lights that brighten the place up.
So yea, I'd be interested to know more. 😎
What about in the miserable UK? Is there enough sun or do I need a wind turbine on the roof too? 
@teleman Yer man there is enough sun here to power that shit too, solar nowadays is pretty efficient. Even over cast skies can produce power. Not as much as a clear day but still some.

@macky I suppose it's down to your roof surface area in the end.
Those storage batteries are pricey still, about £8500 installed from what I could find.
All this shit will continue to get more affordable though.
