Hey everyone!

To sum up this thread im in big need of help in regards to taking care of a bunch of plants i have no idea about XD

my old man use to be a gardener in hes day and planted loads of different plants in the garden from like 10-15 years ago, alot are still alive and striving but just seen better days, would be nice to give back life to this garden in anyway possible any suggestions or tips will be very handy!

cant give much description on the plants so will just show pictures and hope for the best,. even if yall know the name of the plant it be a big help so i can try do bit research on them,

20210827 165720

For starters we have this bush, that is literally half dead half alive. no clue what to do, can this be revived? do i need to just chop back the dead?  maybe i need to chop back the tree above to allow better sun light? but as you see it does get sun light anyway, so baffled why it even half dead.

20210827 163406

No fking idea what this is, dont expect much help for this but worth a try

20210827 163009

Pear tree, that not been trained to grow straight so the fucker is stiff as fuck growing on a awkward angle, my question is how damaging would it be if i could just cut all the branches over hanging? and try to strap it back as much possible? but i would be chopping back all the green

20210827 163024

Same situation with the plum tree :/ will they just die if i cut all green off it? or still hope i can cut them off and train it straight?

20210827 163425

Not sure what this is, i assume it might be this plant.. similar base, and got a few these plotted around/ be nice to know what i can feed them with or if any my weed products could help xD

20210827 163454

20210827 162802

These probably the most healthy in the garden, so doesnt need much work, but be nice have some info on them,

20210827 162621
20210827 162631
20210827 162705

3 palm trees (trachycarpus fortunei i think) have the worse looking fan leaves possible :(, so much yellow and brown edging very annoying! I looked up treatment for them, and only solution i found was giving them a slow-release palm fertilizer. anyone with experience in palm trees?

Lastly little rhubarb patch we probably move in different area soon, as well a old crazy pavement i could do with some suggestion or idea how to make nice, if anyone got any input?

First thing I noticed was those potted plants are very low in the pots and need fresh soil. Most of the plants can be lifted from the pots easily and new soil can be added underneath the existing soil to raise them to a proper height and give the roots room to grow. The plants will really appreciate this and if you water them regularly they will respond well.

Chop back the dead part of your bush, it’s doing nothing but taking away light. You can prune your fruit trees if you want and train them how you like but fruit trees are a hassle especially when they get older and bigger so replacing them with something more easy to look after is what I would do. Your pots have been covered by the previous post. I’ve no clue about palm trees, although I’d suggest some steps to climb up and trim any dead leaves, this is normally done once a year. Good luck!

@monkeydo I'm bit tight of soil for the less important plants, would general earth soil from my garden be enough to lift them up? Or should I go about getting multi purpose compost or something? Thanks for your input though didn't even consider that at all

@redeyejedi26 thanks for your input!  okay so gather that Bush is dead dead =( that's a shame I noticed it a whole separate Bush it self, but attached to the alive one is there no way at all bringing life back to it? I see the slightest bit of green in the brown like it trying to survive or that the remaining bit life just fully dying?,

it will open so much space if I remove that bush and have nothing to fill it with for now, if I can avoid chopping I'll rather treat it and hope recover in a year, but if saying that's not an option I guess just have open the space up it killing the other Bush I believe stealing the light like u say =(

@redeyejedi26 I had previously cut down alot the dead leafs but I guess didn't go high enough, how high do people go with palm trees do u know? Do they remove to

16301496209726268851029944421479

like the shoulder height of the plant? Or do they just leave the top and remove shoulders? If that make sense lol

Anyone know name this Bush?

Cut it back until you get to stuff that looks alive on the inside and where you may see small new shoots, give it some general fertiliser and wait, it may come back, I’d bet it would.

100% agree, remove the dead and pamper it. You might just be surprised if you give it a chance and it’s cheaper than replacing it too.

Thanks guys will go about cutting that back, i feel like im just gunna end up at the stump with it though xD but shall see how it goes!

another question for yall
i brought this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07N8H6W43/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 as we got so many weeds and clovers and even moss on our grass! but literally not done anything, gunna leave it another week before i judge it too much but any tips or brand recommendation, on making grass good again? my plan was to try remove all the weeds in the grass as best possible, then stab the living shit out of all the grass making holes for seeds with a pitchfork, then spread some grass seeds and then cover it with a bunch of top soil and water and hope for the best?

tell me where i go wrong xD
