Hey guys, me again .. with another issue i just found some rusty dots. My ph is always 6.0 i have blue lab pen, i am using buddhastree nutrients, i use to feed with less than half, since few days i am giving half dose.

I am using filtrated water and i grow in coco. Do you have any ideas what this could be ? My guess is calcium deficiency, i have cal mag from magic plant in case but i never used this. I dont have any bugs. Spots are random, not on every leaf.. Please help 🙁

I'm guessing a cal mag issue due to being in coco and looking at the stems on the one leaf

@rng so as you havent adjusted with calmag yet I would start with that. Coco doesnt have the calcium and magnesium already in it that soil does so it needs to be added via nutes....hence the cal mag solution. I would start with that

I have would agree with zn and Cody on Themis it looks like cal mag but I suspect maybe some potassium deficiency also. One small thing are you growing in coco or soil, you have a great ph pen bluelabs are awesome but have you calibrated it lately, they can drift drastically if uncalibrated. I onlce found mine to be out by as much as 1.8 ph, this was causing serious problems for me and I was like the ph is always 5.8 I don’t understand this lol if you haven’t got a bottle of ph7 calibrating solution you can pick one up in any grow store or most good garden centres

@green-beard Pen is brand new, calibrated 27 days ago, i will calibrate again in next two days, i store pen in storage solution every single time and i clean it with fresh water before using and after using, then i put it back in storage solution.

guys are you amazing ! thanks for all help

could you recommend me how much should i give them per 1L ? ( i mean that cal mag from magic plant)

this is my schedule :

2 ml each Coco A and Coco B and 0.1 Flower Burst  per 1L filtrated water

@rng I would follow the directions on the bottle of calmag. Start at 1/2 strength and in a few days you should see results. Coco is quicker to fix issues in. Usually coco shows signs in 3 days sometimes less and soil can be 3 to 7 days. Start with the calmag and keep us updated man! 🙂

@rng ya add it in to the final solution that is going into the medium and ph adjust accordingly. Never a silly question other than the one you dont ask. I've asked 1000s of questions about growing and I'm STILL asking questions every day. Get a nice book like the cannabis encyclopedia or another good thick book of knowledge out there if that interests you and you'll have some references to look at aswell as ask in here and get some first hand knowledge from experience. Either way you'll get to learn more and more about this amazing hobby!

@rng I'm not entirely sure but check out the coco growing guide here and if your unsure I know that

@macky and @monkeydo both grow in coco and know there stuff pretty well so I'd be leaning towards them for the long term doses

Macky is running high intensity LED from IS...these lights and similar need CalMag adding, as does Coco, most soils dont esp. with HPS...I would maybe lean a little towards the filtered water being suspect, how is it filtered ?

@rng we live and we learn overtime. I've never grown in coco but I know that cal mag is a big big staple in growing in coco. Better to wait and not over water like you said but next feeding or watering you need to add that ASAP. And not just me....the other guys have just confirmed my suspicion as well as taught me before this....we all grow together! 🙂

I think both Cody and ZN have valid points but the bottom line is grows in coco need cal mag because like Cody mentioned, there is none in coco at all. To make things even worse, coco has an almost magnetic affinity to latch on to both calcium and magnesium and not let the plants have any. It had to do with ion exchanges within the coco but let’s leave that alone. The led lights seem to make the required amount even more exaggerated but even with HPS, you need some measure of cal mag in the feed. Start low, about 1/4 strength and increase to 1/2 if needed. I’d be very curious what your input and out EC measurements are. If your EC is to high, or if your feed has too much pk in it, or if the ph is incorrect you can lock out calcium and magnesium and plants can’t access it even if it is available. When you see cal/mag issues like this be aware that those blemishes will probably not go away. When the problem is corrected the problem will stabilize but old damage will remain. Hope this makes sense

@monkeydo

plenty of information ! thank you, so about ec pen i dont have it yet, i know this is mistake but i have to wait 3 weeks before i get one.. from blue lab

about ph till they started flowering it was always 5.8 not less not more, and i gave them around 1/3 nutrients dose, then when they started flowering few days ago i increased ph to 6.0 and half nutrients dose but i never used that cal mag - i don't know why.. till week 3 everything was ok and generally plants are massive with many flowers, one is bit behind, flowering very slowly but rest is looking nice Smile

@rng especially makes sense what monkey said too and they may have been "ok" before for a bit and the flowering triggered the issue because the plants diet changed and needed more magnesium. Cannabis requires more magnesium during flower and this flowering cycle may have been the trigger for this issue.....there such science projects some times! Love it! But I knew @monkeydo would have some great advice on coco here! Hes chalk full of good solid knowledge! Keep us updated on the grow!

hi guys, quick update.

so since August 5 i was giving them cal mag 0.5 per L , all top leaves are looking like that especially near buds, there are dots as well on new smallest leaves on top, its getting worst every day. i spotted dots on one more plant, well at this point i have read everything now i think its cal mag excess. i lowered my nutrients dosage again, since 2 days i am giving 0.2 cal per L. this is making me very tired all what i do in last weeks is wake up and im searching again till 2 am and again, this is nightmare. pH 6.0 always pen is calibrated, i am watering 2 -3 times per day, i dont have any bugs. im done this is end i'm not searching anymore this is last stop. if you have any ideas please share, thanks guys.

hat medium are you in mate? coco?

It can get frustrating mate, I know the feeling, but its ok man it can be sorted. The leaves look like they have a waxy layer on them, but under those the leaves still look happy and green, so no major worry right away.

Can we see a pic of the whole plant under natural light? Be easier to diagnose from that pic Smile

Reading through the thread looks like a coco grow, is that correct? At this point a flush is the best action. We don't have any EC info so we have to assume there is an imbalance. Flush each pot with 3 times the pots volume of 5.8 ph adjusted water. After the flush refeed the plants with fresh nutes at no more than 1/2 recommended rate. In this situation less is going to be more because an excess of one nutrient can cause a lockout of a different nutrient. An EC pen can help customize the feed if you get one.

thanks guys , yeah its coco

at begin i had issue with very light green color so i started giving them 1/2 recommended rate (before it was 1/3 rate) after that they changed color to "proper" green, in middle time i spotted some dots not many of them just few so i added to my nutrients mix 0.5 cal mag from magic plant, i have everything from Buddhas Tree this is schedule : http://www.buddhastree.co.uk/growchart.php, so cal mag was in every nutrient mix. im going to buy ec pen from blue lab in this week in Wednesday.

that one with "late stage" issue is way above rest, she got massive buds, another plant is slowly going into same scenario ( got spots already) third plant the biggest one is looking ok no spots all at, they are same strain

It looks like a pottasium deficiency more than anything i think mate. But the plant also looks like she has plenty of nitrogen. With the Buddhas tree range, what has a good amount of potassium, but low in nitrogen?

http://www.buddhastree.co.uk/products.php

i am adding only 0.25 per L

i think pk 9-18 but im not sure.. there is nitrogen in everything

pk 9-18 :

total nitrogen 2.65 %

2.65 % ammoniacal nitrogen

phosphate 9%

soluble potash  18% - are we talking about this ?

sulfur 12.3 %

i dont know to much about chemistry ..

I would stop everything and just give the pk i think mate.

If this is what is in your pk mix:

total nitrogen 2.65 %

2.65 % ammoniacal nitrogen

phosphate 9%

soluble potash  18% - are we talking about this ?

sulfur 12.3 %

Then use that by its self and the plants will be happy Smile

I did flush and I give them only pk. Now problem is everywhere. Rots are white. No bugs. I'm killing those plants.

I found yesterday that my tap water is 0.0 ec. Since yesterday Im increasing ec to 0.4 with cana agent and then nutrients till 1.2 and ad then end pk.

Can you tell me what is best ec range for flowering flowers?
