Off Topic The Stigma is lifting!

What made me think of this initially was something small that happened recently.  

My father has told me since I was old enough to remember that cannabis was "Dope" and that he would beat my ass if I ever tried it...   Obviously that tactic did not work for me, but that is besides the point.  Lol.

But anyway, he was not a cannabis person and was definitely  indoctrinated into reefer madness.  

Well!  Times are a changing!  Haha.

The other day dad reached out to me via text, telling me that he was ordering a rosin press for me for Christmas!   Warms my heart that all of my cannabis lectures have started sinking in!  Honestly, I think he will be smoking with me soon based on his turn around in attitude towards it! 

It's a small thing!  But goes to show that minds are changing and we shouldn't get discouraged!

Forgot to mention, we are in the Bible belt south east US....  I'm sure Monkey can attest to the attitude towards cannabis in this area.  🤬

But even more so shows my point.   If things can change here, they can change anywhere!  

Yeah I know your struggle mate, my family are all very straight laced people and with the exception of my dad(always let me be me and guided me rather than expressly prohibiting things) have all expressed their distaste of my cannabis consumption, recently however as the medicinal benefits have been picked up and spruiked by the media I have had some family members asking more questions and being genuinely more inquisitive into the benefits of cannabis. That being said I no longer have any grandparents around and my parents are in their late 60s now so all through my childhood reefer madness was rife, still didn't stop me getting high every second day lol. I think slowly we will see change in the attitude towards it, the biggest issue we face is the smear campaigns driven by the government on behalf of alcohol and tobacco lobbies that have a vested interest in keeping the lid on cannabis, the genie is well and truly out of the bottle but it will still take some time for the old guard to retire and the new more progressive politicians get through and enact some change. Glad to hear your parents have turned the corner and I hope you can sit back one day and smoke a big fat spliff with your dad while talking about the days of old! 

@bubblehok Well said my friend!   My mother was that person for me!  Honestly, my first joint was at 13 and was one I found in her bathroom.  Haha.
