Hi everyone! I'm working on my first grow. About 14 days into it using organic soil. I just picked up a bottle of nutrients after listening to the episode of high on home grown. I'm wondering when you all start feeding nutrients to your plants? I'm hesitant for a few reasons. They're doing good now and I don't want to over feed them. Also I've been warned that starting plants in organic soil can give them plenty of nutrients to start with.... Any advice is welcome, thank you!

@shredmonkey hi mate

nice seedlings there 👌

what kinda soil are you using btw?

most off the shelf soils have enough food for the first few weeks of veg but will run out unless it’s a ‘super soil’ as in preloaded with dry nutrients (such as sohum or eco life)

you’ll need to pot up your plants and when you do they’ll be more food then for a couple weeks or more depending on final pot size.

ive often found with a shelf soil I don’t need to feed until plants are 4-6 weeks old usually just before I put them into flower

Hope this helps

good luck

Time to pop some more beans 😗

@chillbert Thanks for the help! I'm using Roots organic

I am still looking into what pots to get for repotting. Once I do I'll give them some time before I start giving them any nutrients.

Thanks!

If you're potting up into the same organic soil, put them in big pots 25ltr+ and you shouldnt have to feed at all 😉

I wait for the leaves to lighten in colour, good indicator if you catch it in time

@zn Thanks for the tip! I didn't realize the soil was enough for them. I'll keep an eye on the color in case anything changes.
