Just noticed this little yellow things sticking out of my buds this morning on one of my Haze landrace strains. Mostly on the smaller one my #2 Haze. #1 is almost two weeks ahead of it in overall time, but both started flowering 48/53 days ago and should only have 12 to 7 days to be at 60 day's of flower, though the strain is noted to go until 70 days.
I've never known a plant to Hermie this late in flower. What the heck can I do. OR is it something else.
Pin ch off the nanas mate at try to reduce the spread of the pollen as you do it.
Take a plastic bag over your hand, pinch the nanan off, and the wrap it straight way to reduce it blowing off in the wind. Turn fans off, and even spray it with water first. This will all help reduce the spread.
But you may be too late man. Any sing of seeds in the buds or calyxes?
Bad luck man. Fans off and mist them heavily and don’t forget the tent walls etc. anywhere pollen can hide.
What are calyxes? And bud rot or mold was what I was worried about.
Well then I guess I'm pulling them. Because at each node there's been the Calyxes have been there for a while. But just thought it was normal. Cause they still had long pistils from each one. And never saw any nanners poking out. Watched each one and check them every day since I first seen them. They are the free seeds I got from Grower's Choice with a mail order of Autoflowers. Supposed to be feminized. So don't know if it was something I did? or Hermie already within the strain.. wish I knew. Now gotta prepare better for the next two cause they're Cindy 99's.. and don't want this to happen to them.. really bums me out. But whatyado. Keep moving forward. Thanks fellas. Hopefully it'll slow up soon and I can start being back in more often as I was every day for a while.
Hey, just FYI, the seeds grow inside a bract (not the calyx, per se). The red arrow is pointing to a bract that has a seed inside, and the green arrows are the same, but you can actually see the seeds poking out. Check out the pics from Jorge Cervantes' Marijuana Encyclopedia (pg 510). Not that I am a botanical purist but, ?.
If a plant is going to hermi, it can show can show anytime if stressed, especially you have shit genetics, but also can happen near the end of flowering. I had a few little bananas pop up on my ladies last grow in very late flower - not as many as it looks like you have there but, I have no issues with seeds...
If it was me, and I had no other plants in there to potentially get pollinated, I would probably let them go for the remaining week or whatever it is, and then harvest. Seeds take a long ass time to form and mature (6-8 weeks from initial pollination, in my experience). But if there are other females there, then yeah, I'd move them out asap.
Yea you're right, brain fart man.
Sometimes a picture is better. I learned from different flowers but parts is parts. Great catch TG!
Nuthin but love man. I forget stuff all the time and I’m very impressed at your saves. Obviously know your stuff and have no problem you helping me whenever you feel up to it mate ?
georgy boy has some great info in there, especially for troubleshooting. probably the best for troubleshooting.
