Hi there this is my second grow growing autos and the plants are very short was wondering if anyone thinks this could be a issue where I'm giving them too much light or could it just be genetics?
@pinkhelmet you got any photos? Autos can be shorter than regs or fems, will also depend on the genetics.
@pinkhelmet autos can be tricky when you first start out. If you don’t get them moving fast from the beginning they can certainly disappoint you with small plants and small yields. Pictures are a huge help for us to see the problems and any information you can provide helps too. Do you know the following:
Strain name?
What are you growing in, if soil what brand (important)?
are you using nutrients and if so how much and what brands?
What are your temperatures with lights on and off?
Whats your grow space?
What light are you using and how far from the plant is it?
Whats your water source and what’s the quality like (background EC)?
Anything else you’d like to add will also help.

- Bio biz light mix is the soil. Havent really fed anything at this point as although they are short they do look extremely healthy and didnt want to over feed as that was an issue I ran into last time round. Water source is just rain water. Temp is 18oc pretty consistent tbh. I've been giving em 20hrs on 4 hours off using migro array lights the 4 bar 450w one. It's a 1.5mx1.5 2m tall lol. Northern lights is the strain. Will try and get pictures later when me kids go to bed. Thanks for getting back to me
Probably genetics. Autos usually eat less nutrients than photos. 18°c is bit low but ok. Water consumption is lower in cooler. That also affects growth and feeding.
Have ur plants shown sex yet?
@juglans yea I know it's a bit low am in a garage been a struggle with the temps. Two are about to go into flower

Hi bud as they say pics would really help as how long is a piece of string ie how small.
some plants just don’t grow tall in veg at all & might not even get that tall in flower
kinda depends on how small & lots of other stuff.
nl doesn’t really get massive
without pics it’s kinda a guessing game.
if your in a cold garage how cold/warm is it
I noticed mine where at least a week behind what they should of been when I moved rooms & hadn’t dailed the temps & that was at 69%f/20.6c

@pinkhelmet, container size has a lot to do with it. Bigger container, bigger roots, bigger plant. Not a lot you can do now but learn from this one. You could transplant but their in flower and I'm not an expert on that one. they look healthy a little dark but not burnt or clawing so not to bad there. To me it looks like they are part of a small world, they grew to their environment. You've done a good job, round 2 will be better. 👍 That's just my opinion, let's see what the real experts say. lol
They are in 15 ltr pots
Yea thats genetics mostly. Healthy looking plants. Dont dim your light. It gives heat too. 18° is very ok i would say. Not that bad. Problems/slowing starts when i get 10°c nights...
Theres some colas coming, maybe that strain likes to grow sideways more than up ✌🏽
