Best seed germination technique?

I always soak my seeds in some nice clean room temp water for 12-18 hours. Then into some damp paper towel placed on a dinner plate, with another plate on top to keep them moist (not sopping wet). Keep em warm and in the paper towel for another 1-3 days, making sure the it stays moist so the seeds don't dry out. You should see taproots pretty quick! Sometimes it can take a bit longer if they are older seeds but, patience!

Alternatively, you can just plant directly into your medium, keeping the area around the seed moist (again not soaking wet!). They usually pop out in 2-5 days. I like the paper towel method simply because in the event that one of your seeds is a dud, you can actually see it not growing instead of sitting and staring at your medium for a week wondering if today is the day.. haha.

@templegrower it was recommended to me to add a tsp of hydrogen peroxide to my water soak to help break down seed coats. I had good success with my one round of germination, but not sure if it makes a big difference to outcomes w cannabis?

@oc-hybrid It can be done mate, and some growers do it. it cleans the water and makes it a bit more reactive. but too much can cause problems. Its not necessary IMO, but each to their own

@danizeap Hey Daniel, I've not long started putting them straight into rockwool cubes and keeping them around 75f and around 80% humidity, they usually pop for me in 24 to 48 hrs, 100% success rate for me this way, used to do the soaking then the paper towel method but I feel the rockwool basically halves my waiting time, hope this helps
