So first attempt at phing don't think I stirred so my ph didn't move.

Kept adding pH down then when I added my nutrients it dropped like a sack of s**t.

I need advice should you filter your water for a lower ph or add your tap water in my case it's 7.7-8 and the nutrients should lower it enough?

I'm starting with Vitalink plant start as I was told it's very handy for starting out.

I'm growing in Coco and starting in my 16l fabric pots. Is that ok or should I be starting smaller? I'm growing blue dream photoperiods from garden of green.

@silentbutdeadly224 Yer its really strong stuff. To make it easier, get a litre bottle with 990 ml of water, and add 10ml of the ph up down. then its much easier to use because a small amount doesn't throw things off so much Smile

@macky Is it ok to plant my seeds directly in my coco coir fabric pots? I don't have anything else and as approaching winter want to get started tonight.

I'll have to make sure to add nutrients first before adjusting ph I think. Haha live and learn. LoL

@silentbutdeadly224 Yes mate, do it. As long as it is ph'ed and has some nuits in it'll be fine Smile Smaller pots are prefered though, but you got to work with what you got Smile

Make sure you put a plastic cup over it to lock in the moisture around the seed and remove it when the seeds comes above the surface Smile

You pH you water even to start with coco correct?

Should I soak all the coco?

@silentbutdeadly224 and I plant my seeds directly into 5 gal fabric pots with zero issues, you will also want to be giving a light nutrient dose every time as the coco has no nutrients, and make sure your still supplementing with calmag as the coco will leach that away as well.  Smile

@bubblehok Thanks mate extremely helpful going to start tonight after my gym sesh might just go with 2 instead of 4 to get going and learn.

Do I need to do the paper towel thing or can I just pop it in a knuckle deep and use a watering can to water around it and ta dah!?

@silentbutdeadly224 The paper towel method is up to you. Some growers use it(me) and some growers will plant directly. I personally like doing the paper towel method because I can physically see them pop their tap root.  The way I do the paper towel method is:

Get 2 plates.  Put a liner of paper towels on the bottom, put your seeds on the paper towel. Cover with another paper towel. Spray the entire surface using a spray bottle but don’t over do it. It should be damp but not soaked. Cover this with the 2nd plate to hold in humidity.  Really import about this method is you want warmer temperatures. I will actually germinate my seeds via the paper towel method under my grow light in my tent. This helps keeping it warm

Be a good person! Don’t be an asshole.

@growdad I opted for the push into the coco and water.

I poured about 2l along with some nutrients.

I'm assuming with coco you need to be feeding early on.

Should I be doing that much?

Or more even?

Haven't been getting much runoff other than a few drips.
