So I'm fairly sure I know the answer to this but want to confirm with somebody.

I'm growing in 16l fabric pots and was thinking ij terms of watering I'll probably add around 2l per watering but Idk if that'll stack up when I've started.

My concern is adding nutes in meantime before I know how much water works best for my pot size and the fact that they're fabric in a coir growing medium etc. Everyone says to start off adding nutes.

Can anyone give me some pointers here? Will 2l of water be too little?

Canna website can draw up how much you need based on how much water you're giving so I'll definitely be referring to that going forward.

If I read your question correctly, you’re trying to know how much feed to use to fertigate your 16 liter fabric pots of coco. There’s not a definite answer. In coco you should water till you have at least 10-20% of excess runoff every time you water. Don’t follow the information on the Canna website, their recommended amounts are too high and your results will suffer. Start mixing the nutrients at 1/4 strength of the recommended amount on the label from germination and I usually max out in my grows somewhere around 50% of the recommended rate depending on how the plant and output EC look. Full strength is too much for cannabis.

Water till runoff every time and after the first watering you’ll know about what volume it will take to make this happen. As the plants grow the needed volume will need to increase but always water to runoff in coco. For your first time mix up 2L and try it. That way you will know if you need more or less tomorrow. We learn from trial and error.

@silentbutdeadly224 I use rain water and have the starting ec around .2ec for seedlings, I usually put a few tablespoons worth directly at the seedling then move about an inch out from the seedling and wet down the rest of the coco with the solution until I get runoff. That way it promotes root growth and doesn't drown them Smile as monkey pointed out though depending on conditions it could take a litre it could take 3 its a game of feel it out really with coco.

@monkeydo Sh1t. So their website isn't accurate? 😭

So if you do 1/4 from germination how much do you give them before they sprout? I was going to place them in the coir with water and nutrients whatever was recommended on the nutrient table.

Was also going to try to pre mix and make bulk amounts. I'm doing 4 plants so thought pre mixing 16l say every couple of days would be a good idea.

@bubblehok When you say directly at you mean you pour bottled nutrients on your seedling? Isn't that a bit dodgy? Just as they're concentrated and whatnot. Or did you mean something else? Sorry not completely clear what you mean.

Watering with a light nutrient mix is fine for seeds. 1/4 to 1/8 strength is good. It doesn’t need to be strong, just about .3 - .4 EC above background. My preferred way is to water the freshly planted seeds with something like Rhizotonic. I use kangaroots from fox farms. It stimulates fast root growth and has a few nutrients that the seedlings love.

I think Canna says to discard any un-used nutes after 24 hours but you can check their site for that info.

@monkeydo I googled.

Found another forum.

Everyone is saying after 4 days to chuck it.

Couldn't find anything on the Canna site.

Vitalink plant start is supposed to be good for seedlings any experience with it? It's cheap and would save me faffing around with canna nutes at the start. Could then use the rest of my kit for when it starts to flower.

Just as it's easier to have it in one bottle.

Its accurate mate, but for fruits and vegetable growing, not for growing herbaceous plants like cannabis 😉

If you have an airstone in it then the nuit mix might last four days sure, but if you dont have an airstone throw it away after 24 hour mate.

No, never do that. Add around 1ml per litre of the nuits to the water and stir well. Make sure the pH is at 5.8 and water the plants until you get at least 10% run off, then your good to go. Repeat that everyday Smile

You have the seedlings in 16L fabric pots? or that's what you plan to use? Let mew know mate, that's a bit big for a coco grow in the early stages, a 1-3L pot is best for seedlings, then you don't have to mix so much nuits

@silentbutdeadly224 no the solution of .2ec, sorry mate I may not have been clear on that. I make a mix up of water with the nutrients in it that comes to a combined total of .2ec then feed that as described.

I'm a little late to this thread, and am looking for info on when to start fertilizing.  This is my second grow (first one used super soil and no nutes and just a little molasses when flowers started for autos, and produced nice bud, but not a lot.) I am using 5-gallon fabric pots and planted seedlings after using the old paper towel method.  Seedlings have been in soil for 5 days. I have Budha Grow, Trinity and Bloom organic liquid nutes. Has anyone tried these? My question is just when and how much to start to add to water.  Any advice appreciated!
