I had a male plant that I was going to harvest the pollen from. It was full of pollen sacks and then ... it produced a lot of seed. Would you keep either the pollen or seed? Do you think they will all be hermies?
Was it from regular seeds mate? like a natural male pollinating a female?
They say you really don't know how to do a thing until you know how to fix it when you do it wrong.
it was from reg seed, looked like a male so I separated it. The odds of it being crossed with anything else is extremely low. It pollinated itself.
They will be regular seeds then mate, 50/50 male or female. You'll be fine to use them.

males can poillinate themselves? dont you mean it was a hermie?
i recently tried growing from bag seed. this current grow is bag seed.
apparently, they say genetically they can be more prone to going hermie but i dont know if that true.
i feel like its not necessarily a garuntee they will be hermie, but they likely possess genetics that allow for varying degrees of stress to "trigger" it in a way.
long story short, i let two VERY nice death bubba (even the larfy light bottom junk was coated in crystal. rediculous!) hermies do their thing together and im going to use the (technically feminized) seed for some guerilla growing on some local trails
ive got well over 400 seeds so you know ill let you know on how it all goes.
id keep your seeds, but just realise that a breeder does it better
If it was originally for sure a male plant, then yeah, you should have regular seeds. Male sex chromosomes = XY, female = XX so, male + female = 50% males/50% female offspring, like Macky said.
If the plant was originally a female though, the resulting offspring should be feminized as there was no Y chromosome present in either parent. This doesn't mean they wouldn't still be prone to hermi-ing like Dok was saying there but yeah, should be good beans nonetheless. Only one way to find out!
@dok-gonzo it hermied alright but never showed any signs of being female. Good luck on your seeds if they are fem that`s a score for sure.
@templegrower one way to find out for sure. I Don`t know the Cultivar true name, but it is a south american sativa and it would have to be grown indoors and trimmed down. It can grow to be a real beast.
@phil OK now im confused. not trying to sound rude but what makes you think it wasnt simply a male?
i feel like it cant technically be a hermie without pistils and nanners showing...
also, so far the bag seed has been fun. only had to cull one male.
i havent tried any of my fem hermie seeds... but ill be trying them outdoors and my father in law is gonna try some outside too this year
