Grow tents are the way to grow cannabis indoors. They are used by most growers as they provide a space that is easy to control. One of the most common grow tents you will find for percy growers, is the 1m x 1m x 2m grow tent. This tent can easily fit 4 medium sized plants, and bring you a decent yield. Most cannabis users can grow their own supply in a grow tent of this size, and it doesn't take up a lot of space. Because of this, these tents come highly recommended for growers of all levels. If you have any questions about what 1m x 1m grow tent you should buy, or if its the right size for your needs, then feel free to ask for help in our cannabis growers forum What Lights to Use There is a huge range of options available to you when choosing lighting for growing cannabis. What you buy, will depend on your budget, and the ambient temperatures you will be growing in. For example, if it is summer time, or you live in hot climates, consider growing with LED lights. If you're in a colder season, or live in colder climates, maybe a HID light would be your best choice. HID Lighting for a 1m tent Because of the small floor space young plants will take up, it is a good idea to start off using smaller bulbs, and make your way up to the 600 HPS. The recommended lighting would be; 250w MH For Early Veg400w MH for Late Veg, and first week of flower600w HPS for Flowering Using smaller bulbs will reduce electricity costs, and also prevent too much heat building up in your grow room. The problem with HID lighting is it releases a lot of heat and uses up a lot of power. But they are a cheap, and an effective form of grow lighting. Most new growers will start out using HID, purely because of the price difference between these and LEDs. Make sure if you're buying HID lighting for your 1m grow tent, to buy a digital dimmable ballast with it. This will give you the ability to dim the power coming from the ballast, so you can run lower powered bulbs. Reflectors, and Hoods HID bulbs will burn very hot, and create a lot of excess heat in the grow room. You can use cooling tubes, or cooling hoods linked up to your extractor to reduce this issue. But, the light will have to go through an extra layer of glass before it gets to your plants. This is said to reduce the amount of lumens your plant receives. To get the best spread of light across your 1m x 1m grow tent, you should use a reflector. For best results, you should purchase a parabolic shade. This will disperse heat better, and also spread the light across more of the canopy. LED Lighting for a 1m x1m Grow Space When choosing an LED grow light for your grow room, things can get a little more complicated. LED lighting is good, but there are alot of brands that do not meet the mark. A lot of growers do not like growing with LED's because they have used cheap models in the past and got poor results. For the best LED lighting only go with trusted brands such as: Invisible SunLED By PassionViparspectraMars Hydro How many Watts you need for a 1m x 1m Grow Tent Each type of lighting, from each company, will have different specifications. This makes it difficult to choose which light is going to work best for you. You can figure out how much light you need in your grow space by following this calculation: If using HID Lighting: You need at least 50w of light for every square foot of grow space1m is close to 3.3 ft, so, 3.3 x 3.3 is, 10.89That is 10.89 square feet, that needs at least 50w eachLeaving you with 544.5w needed to grow in your space So, as you can see, for 1m x 1m x 2m Grow Tents, between 500 and 600w is ideal. A 1m grow tent is very popular amongst growers, and because a tent this size needs 550w, you will find most growers will use a 600 HID lighting in this space. If you are going to grow with LED, then you will not need as much wattage. You can use the same calculation, but you only need around 30-35w per square foot. 35w of light for every square foot of grow space1m is close to 3.3 ft, so, 3.3 x 3.3 is, 10.89That is 10.89 square feet, that needs at least 35w eachLeaving you with 381 w needed to grow in your space Look for an LED model that can offer this amount of light. What is also important to consider when buying LED lights, is the "PAR". Which needs a whole article of its own. Extraction Grow room ventilation is often an overlooked aspect of growing indoors. Giving your plants a good clean supply of fresh air will help them grow strong and healthy. For each size grow space, you will need a different size extractor. In a 1m x 1m x 2m grow tent, a 5 inch extractor is the standard, with some growers going up to 6 inch if running HID lighting during summer months. This extractor is plenty to refresh the air in your grow room between 20 and 30 times every hour. With added active intake, or using a 6" extractor instead, you will have full control of your grow room environment. Carbon Filter and Ducting Along with the five or six inch extractor, you will of course, need a carbon filter. Covering the smell of your grow is vital to staying undetected. It is rule number three, and must not be broken. Do not cut corners, and do not buy cheap! Your security depends on it. You will also need 5" ducting, and some clips to attach it to the filter and extractor. Once this is linked up, you can be certain, you will have no smell escaping out of your grow room. Additional Equipment you need for a grow room. Like any other grow room, you will need some fans to keep the air circulating, and you will also need a hygrometer. Keeping track of the temperature and humidity is important. You need good reliable equipment to give you accurate readings. You will also need a timer, to control when your lights will turn on and off. Use a heavy duty timer, not a standard one. Ensuring the timer can put up with the power going through it, will reduce the risk of fire, or equipment breaking down. Invest as much as you can on safety, and good equipment, you can't put a price on peace of mind. How many Plants to Grow in a 1m x 1m Tent To put it simply, four. But other things can be taken into consideration. If this is your only grow space, and you intend to grow some plants for their full life cycle in here, then four is perfect. With about four or five weeks veg, and some LST, you should fill that tent come harvest time and yield between 16 and 20 Oz. You could also reduce the number of plants down to two, and give them a couple more weeks of veg time, and you will still yield with the same results. If you have another grow space, and this is to be your vegging tent, then you can veg 6-8 plants in here for the first four weeks of their lives. They will soon run out of room after this, as growth speeds up. Final thoughts on 1m Grow tents. This is pretty much everything you need for 1m x 1m x 2m Grow Tents. Anything else will be added depending on your grow situation. Things like ambient temperatures, time of year, risk of mould, or bugs, will all make a difference on what you should have in your grow room. You now need to decide what medium you are going to grow in. Are you going to grow organically, for some fine sweet tasting buds, you do you want to grow as much as possible as quickly as possible, and grow hydro? Looks good but with regards to the amount of light needed when using quality leds I would lower it. I don't use more than about 30-35w per square foot. In fact in my 80x80 (6sq ft) I'm only running 90w 🙂 will go upto 120w late flower11 months ago

In this article, we are going to discuss different types of grow tents. Grow tents come in many different sizes. Some have windows, some have extra thick insulated walls. You can buy tents from 6ocm x 60cm, all the way up to 4m x 4m, and in some cases even bigger! But, which grow tent is the best for growing cannabis? And which grow tent suits your needs? If you have any questions about grow tents for growing cannabis, then feel free to ask for help in our cannabis growers forum What Size Grow Tent should you buy? The first thing you need to consider, is how much cannabis do you need? The whole idea of growing your own cannabis is to make sure you have a good, safe, constant supply of it. So you need to make sure your grow tent is big enough to grow the amount of cannabis you need. If you have enough space for one grow tent, then you need to calculate how much cannabis you will need to last for around 16 weeks. If you have enough space for 2, then you can reduce the amount of time your grow will take to around 10 weeks. This is because you can have a "Veg" tent, and a "flowering" tent. Grow Tents to Grow 5 Oz of Cannabis If you are a moderate cannabis user, you will not need a huge grow tent to supply you with the amount of cannabis you need for personal use. If you smoke 7g ( 1/4 oz) a week, 5 ounces of cannabis will last you around 20 weeks. This kind of yield can easily be achieved in a 60cm x 6ocm grow tent: You can grow 2 plants in a 60cm grow tent if you intend to use it for the full cycle. It can also be used as a veg tent for small plants and seedlings as you prepare them for flowering. Because of the small floor space, you will only need a maximum of 250w of light. With the lower wattage of light, and smaller air space, smaller 4 inch extraction can be used to maintain a steady environment. If you are a small time cannabis user, this is an ideal tent for your percy grow. It doesn't take up a lot of room, and is a cheap initial setup. This is a must have tent in a percy growers inventory. Some new growers will buy this tent, and then move onto a bigger tent for their next grow. Grow Tents to Grow 16 oz of Cannabis If you are a regular cannabis user, and use over 1 oz of cannabis a week, then you will need a grow tent that can cover your needs. To grow around 16 ounces of cannabis, a 1m x 1m x 2m grow tent will be your best option: When you buy a 1m x 1m x 2m Grow tent, you will need along with it a 600w lighting kit, or an led equivalent to it. Because of the high intensity from the light, you will need bigger extractions. 6 inch is a good start, but during summer months you may need more. Adding a 4 inch intake extractor will help, or even moving up to an 8 inch extractor. You can also buy cooling tubes, and hoods to help maintain temperatures. But with good ventilation, and six inch extraction, temperatures should not be too much of an issue. Grow Tents to Grow 20 oz of Cannabis If you use cannabis on a daily basis, you may find that you need a little more cannabis than a 1m tent can bring. Increasing the size of the grow tent just a little can bring a big difference in yield. The extra room allows air, and light to move around the grow room easier. Also, you have extra space to allow your plants to get a little bigger before flowering. If you have the room for it, a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m+ grow tent is what you should buy: You can run this tent as if it was a 1m tent, and make no changes to the extra equipment. But you can also push it a little further with stronger lights. If you use stronger lights, you will need bigger extraction to control the heat in the grow room. This is the maximum size most percy growers will need to grow a personal amount of cannabis. In some cases though, the cannabis will be used to make extracts for medical or recreational purposes. To make extracts, you need a much larger amount of cannabis, and that leaves us with one more tent size that a percy grower can use, before you start heading into cultivation territory! Grow Tents for Growing 1kg of Cannabis For some growers, they are growing their cannabis for medicinal uses. Maybe you want to make extracts rather than cannabis for smoking? To make extracts and oils, you will need a lot more cannabis than just for recreational smoking use. So for this, you will need a bigger grow tent. The biggest tent I would personally recommend as a percy grower, is a 1.2 x 2.4 x 2m grow tent. Any higher than this, and you would have a difficult job convincing anyone it is for personal use in a worst case scenario. Having a tent this size will bring you a lot of cannabis, but with it, comes risk. You can buy, the 60cm grow tent, with a 1.2 m grow tent, and run a cycle. When your plants have around four weeks left of flowering, you can start a new crop in the 60cm tent. When your crop is chopped and dried, your new plants will be big enough to go into flower. Choosing the Right Grow Tent Ultimately, the decision is down to a few factors; The Amount of Cannabis You Need to GrowThe Amount of Space You Have Your BudgetAnd Your Growing Experience If you are new to growing, and looking to buy your first setup, and grow your first plant, the the 60cm tent is ideal for you! You may learn that you do not like this hobby, and investing too much would be a waste of money. Buying a small setup up gives you the chance to learn how to grow, and get the hang of things before stepping into a big tent. It is also lower cost, and as you may be buying cannabis right now, you might not have the resources to buy a full setup. When you have your own home grown cannabis, you will save money, and will be able to upgrade. Thanks for reading!
