[Sticky] 60cm x 60cm Grow Tent
A 60cm x 60cm Grow Tent is a small area in which you can grow a couple of plants. It is one of the cheapest grow setups you can buy, and it will take up the least amount of room.
You can easily grow 2 plants through their whole grow cycle in a 60cm x 60cm grow tent. It is also a great tent that can be used for Vegetative growth, before moving your plants into a flower room.
If you are new to growing, this would be a great set up for you. Sometimes, people will start growing cannabis, and realise it is not for them. Some realise they do not have time to maintain a grow. Starting small, with a relatively low price setup like a 60cm grow tent. It is a great way to start growing cannabis.

What Lights to Use in a 60cm x 60cm Grow Tent?
There is a massive choice of lighting you can use in a 60cm grow tent. To deliver enough light to you plants you will need lighting with sufficient output. CFL's and T5's can be used for vegetative growth.
The best lights to use in a 60cm Grow tent is a 250w HID lighting kit. Using a T5 Fluorescent light in the early days of seedlings and cuttings will reduce electricity costs.
Buying a HID lighting kit, is the most popular way to provide good lighting to your plants. It has a massive output of lumens per watt, and for the best yields, most growers will grow using HID lighting. They use more power than other forms of grow lighting, but if you want big flowers, HPS is the light to use.
Finding the right LED light is not easy. There are many to choose from, and they all have different spectrums, and massively different price ranges.
A 300w LED is enough for a 60cm x 60cm grow tent. If you buy from know brands you are sure to get a good light.
Extraction is key to bringing fresh clean air into your grow room, and remove old air, moisture and heat. The lowest size extractor that would suit a 60cm grow tent is a "4 inch inline extractor fan".
Extractor fans can be noisey, and sometimes it is better to buy the bigger size up, and a speed adjuster to slow the fans down. That way, it will run quieter, but still pull out enough air to keep the environment of the grow room in check.
How many Plants Can I Grow In a 60cm Grow Tent?
When growing cannabis for personal use, it is always good to keep plant numbers low. By increase the amount of time a plant is vegging for, you can increase the yield of a plant massively. Just by adding and extra week veg time, can double a final yield!
Growing one good size plant is the best way to grow cannabis in a 60cm grow tent. 2 plants is the maximum you should do. Any more than this, and your plants will suffer due to lack of space during the flowering cycle.
Growing auto flowering cannabis plants under 24 hours of light is perfect for a new grower in a 60cm grow tent!
Just like any other grow setup, you will need a good hygrometer, and some good fans for air circulation. It is important even in such a small space, to keep your air moving, and humidity and temperatures at ideal levels.
This is just about everything you need to start your grow! You just have to decide:
- What medium you would like to grow in
- The food you will feed your plant.
- What strain you would like to grow

Much love Percy Growers, Happy Growing!
Is the height 60cm too? Seems a bit short. ...
Ahhhhh thought so. Lovely grow!
Lovely setup, I would change the light for a dimmable LED with removable ballast.
Here's my *micro budget* version 🤣
I've used this size for years, great little setup, hope to move upto a 90x90 next.
@picina11 Welcome to Percys man something equivalent to 250w HID lighting is best for a 60cm grow tent mate. With one plant in a 12-15l pot should be plenty. If going for LED light, the mars hydro tw1000 is good for that space too
@picina11 something like the TS1000 or similar that can flower a 2'x2' area would work in that size tent. im sure others will add to the list
Sativa to change the things I can, Indica to accept the things I can’t.
@picina11 I use a Viparspectre P1000 in my 2x2 and it gets the job done for less than $80 US. If you want to spend a little more and get a much better light check out HLG, they have some options for smaller tents that will produce some dank.
For pot size, that depends on your goals. Do you want a micro grow with 5-6 plants in it? Or 1-2 bigger plants? For multiple plants I would say 1 gal pots, for one or two bigger plants I would say 3 gal for that size tent.
Hope this helps!

@picina11 Welcome to the best cannabis forum there is, mate! I am a soil grower and have a closet that is just about the size you are asking about. I go with 20L pots for each plant (actually, they are buckets with drain-holes drilled in the bottom), and I could get three buckets in that space but it would get crowded (depending on growing style). Right now I have two girls in there plus a humidifier sitting on top of the third empty bucket.
I started with a broad spectrum LED that is right about 95 watts to light the space, which is just a tiny smidge undersized for bloom, but it does great. With regard to lights, you must decide if you want to go small and cheap to get started, and then upgrade later when needed, or go bigger (as long as you can dial it back) and spend the money now and not have to upgrade later. I decided to go with an cheaper light from amazon (bloom plus) that uses the good Samsung diodes with IR built in. So far, my plants are *loving* it and I only spent about 45cents/watt. It is super inexpensive, but not sexy. Hope that info helps.
Also, there are a bunch of super experienced growers on here willing to help newbs, so just ask if you have a question.

I used 250w hps for ages and grew 4 autos in 12 liter pots but I'd often end up with plants too tall so would sometimes have to bend them at the top to stop them getting burned. I moved to 11 liter pots and a 150 hps which helped but the bulk wasn't as good. Atm I scrog 2 fulls under the 150 and it's pretty good but I'd like to scrog under the 250 to see how that goes but a buddie has it for the foreseeable. Have had my eye on a 200w led for a while and would like to try that too. The other thing would be to research short growing strains. I like buying locally so choice was always limited. If you get the 250 you always have the option of putting it in a bigger tent but not so much with the 150. Hope this helps 😁👍
