Hey guys id appreciate you advice for this newbie
australian grow… so it’s summertime here
Wondering if i need to get a portable ac unit.
Currently 1 plant in veg. I have a small grow tent (60 x 60 x 140), 4 inch inline extractor with carbon filter. Running a mars hydro ts1000 led light. Growing in my garage inside what is a essentially a big cupboard.
As its heated up here in the last few weeks, temps in the tent have crept up to highs of 33-35C. Temps outside hitting 36-37
The tent is
a few degrees hotter that the actual garage gets in the afternoon sun.
Ive changed the light cycle to switch off from midday for 5 hours so it’s mostly on overnight, but the last few nights the tent only dropped to 28-29 overnight.
So i guess do i need to worry about these temps? Will it be too hot for good weed?
I can prob fit a small ac unit outside the tent (but still have it in the cupboard).
@stalecake1 The plants may be fine mate, we would have to seem it really... you did the right thing by turning the lights of during the day, but it can still get too hot for sure. I wouldn't say running a portable AC is with it for just one plant, its gonna cost more to run the set up than youll get in buds in the end really if you run too much. Get a pic of the plant up so we can see if it is suffering with heat stress, but right now I would say just keep doing what youre doing, it will be ok : )

@stalecake1, I think it can be done but strain that is breed to the high heat would be a good start. Otherwise I would think if it was me sitting in that garage what would I want, Air Movement. I'd say the plant isn't going to be growing at peak performance so don't try and run it like that, maybe a little less light- don't stress it with overpowering light when it's busy sweating it's ass off. Air Movement did I mention that, lot's of water but don't over feed, don't know what medium your in. If it's that hot throughout the garage and tent try not to box her in too much by zipping her up if possible. Like I said what would make you comfortable beside AC and a cold beer. Good luck man. 🖐️
Thanks guys. Probably going to watch and wait with the grow. I expect temps are going to warm up a bit more here yet tho. Its not uncommon to hit 40-42 a few days in the peak of summer.
In answer to your question, growing in soil, felt pot, elevated off the ground buy an inch. Just put a scrog in.
the strain is amnesia lemon (sativa dominant)
as requested some pics so you can look for signs of heat stress. What are the signs?
