What's really good guys!

 So I have a few questions about dehumidifing my grow room.

The grow room my tent is in, is normally around 44RH but at lights off my humidity in the tent is around 60RH, does that sound about right? I would have thought the RH in the tent would be the similar to RH in the room.

I have just started flowering and gonna need to start reducing the RH and I can't fit dehumidifier in tent.

How do you guys set up your dehumidifiers?

And what make/models do you have?

Do you turn down your extraction, so your not removing all the dry air?

@straight_coco hi mate!

your humidity rises in the tent when lights off as temp will be dropping (possibility of some condensation on tent walls - check)

if you turn your tent extraction up when lights off it will pull more of the drier air in from your room and push the wetter air from tent out so evening out both humidities .. hope that makes sense!?

Time to pop some more beans 😗

@straight_coco I placed my dehumidifier outside right beside one of the passive intakes of the tent. I also make sure I have enough air circulation. Can you increase the extractors power so it can pull in drier air faster?

Exactly what your last 2 replies said, the best and simplest way is to increase ventilation so if you can increase the extractor speed it should solve this problem as the room is the proper rh.

If you have say a 6 inch rvk coming in and a 8 inch out make it a 8 inch coming in and 10 say coming out , just a example , I allways highter out then in so your air will get pulled through the tent and will have steady air flow less humidity , I grow in soil so don’t have no water in my room that helps

Hey guys thanks for the replies, I understand that cranking up the extraction will help reduce humidity but this presents me with different problems.

I have already got an over sized extraction fan for my tent which is running half speed anything higher than this and it gets real noisey. And on top of this the higher I turn my extraction the colder it gets in my tent.

So I was wondering instead of blasting the extraction and the heater which causes a lot of noise and extra lekky, I would just use my dehumidifier to bring the temp up and the RH down.

I was also wondering about having 2 extractors both on low power too keep noise down (I'm not sure if this will work or be efficient) and plus I'd still have to have the extra heating on.

The noise is my biggest concern as I grow in a spare bedroom which shares a wall with a neighbors bedroom.

Cheers!

@straight_coco

are you using 1 extractor for air out an 1 for 1 in ? Or have you just got the one blowing in ?  Try putting your in / out extractor hooked to the tent celling I find not much noise then , depending on where your grow  is ( rooms or basement etc   ) they shouldn’t be that loud , get a radio in there to dampen down the noise , everday house hold choirs etc , drier , washing machine , tv will dampen out any noise,  ✌🏽Hope that helps mate
