Have trouble with light distance, and intensity, AKA dimmer. Many lights have dimmers these days and everyone has a chart for distance but no one mentions the demo ability of the light. Plus I'm pretty sure I have nitrogen toxicity. Any input would be great, criticism to. Thanks bunches

A bit over fed and a bit hot too i think mate. Are they in DWC? I dont see any problem caused by the light. When they light is too close it bill burn it, like actually burn it so its born and crispy, or bleach it, so the leaves go pale green at the very top.

I would say its a couple of things, either over feeding, or the res temps are too warm. Let us know more mate.

18-6 day/night,  71 degrees light off.    4x8x8 grow room, hard walls, HVAC, new, low mileage.

I'm trying to determine light distance from the tops of my 3 week old autos that are getting ready to start going into flowering. At what point should they be at full power, because there is a dimmer. So, at what degree do I turn them up, and then distance at the same time. Did I mention that they were autos? This is my first grow and I know I'm basically sacrificing these little lambs. The next ones will be better, right. The electric sky company suggest not going over 80% for your first grow with electric skies. Any input would be great, just walking lightly.

Just going on what their website says, the light should be 36 inches in veg and 18 inches in flower. When your plant finishes the stretch and starts setting buds the light should be 18 inches above the tops. Just set the light at 36 inches and let the plant stretch towards it. About 2 weeks or so the growth slows down, adjust to 18 inches then. As far as your dimmer, keep it at 80% if you like. You can turn it up higher when you have confidence the plants can take it. Lower light level will stress the plants less but can also lower yield, double edge sword there.

Yeah, I just put the light at 34 in above the tops, and was planning on letting the plants grow towards the light, as you were saying. That way I can play with intensity, and the distance will give me a little buffer. It's a new system new lights new everything. It's like building a car, I just got to find The Sweet spot. Finally getting a hold of the nutrients level, when they say a little, they mean it.
