Help with young seeds

Hello everyone, new grower here and I’ve run into some issues regarding my new seedlings. My seedlings stop growing after the cotyledon leaves appear. On my first attempt I used rockwool cubes in a humidity dome- the seeds germinated and the cotyledon appeared on all 6 seeds after 3 days. After 2 weeks however I had no new leaf growth or roots. I scrapped those as this lingered into the 3rd week. I repeated this process thinking it was a one off but the same results followed. I cracked my vents slightly open to allow some air in during the germination process and open them fully after the sprout (on my next attempt I’m taking the done completely off). For lighting I have a t5 light.

I know I’m missing something on my end so any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to Percys Vino, sounds to me like the medium (soil) might have too much food in it, this is shocking the roots and killing the seedling..... have you tried using a potting mix, or coco for the seedlings?

@macky I’m using the promix hp media. I attempted to make organic mix and I put that at the bottom, rest of the plant is promix. I haven’t used potting mix or coco but I’m willing to give it a try 👍

@vino_slatt24 Yer its very strong for seedlings mate.

Best thing to do would either be, flush the fuck out of a soil before you use it, or use a potting mix to start the seedlings off.

You could also mix your soil with a bit of coco, pretty much, you just want to reduce how strong the soil is. then the plants will be happier i think

@macky I’m going to give the coco a try by itself and mix it with the soil. During germination I sprayed the inside cover of my dome whenever it dried, is that too much humidity at that stage?

@vino_slatt24 No need to spray the inside of the domes really mate. As soon as the plant surfaces, you should remove the dome any way, and get a slight breeze blowing at the plant. Itll help stop stretch and make a stronger stem

Is it safe to say I might have an airborne pathogen stunting them if I made the recommended changes but still no effect?

The only thing wrong with this plant is it has stretched a little. This can be down to the light being too far away, or not enough breeze blowing at the plant. I know the post is an old on, but if any one has this issue, lower the light or add more breeze to the tent, its a common issue.....

Ninja, What makes you say there is a root problem here?

My bad fellas for the old thread bit here’s a newer pic (different plant) but same issue. I lowered the light to 16in away & have an oscillating fan outside the tent but all the seedlings still get stunted. I also mixed the soil way back like you recommended Macky but no improvement either  unfortunately
