Questions First Time grower....

I have several CFL's in reflective housings that I plan to keep on the young seedling for a couple weeks. 

When should I introduce the big MARS overhead light?

I may be answering a lot of my own Q's as I research.  OCD and growing is gonna be a task!  😀

Nice. Get some compost and small pots. Pop them in a warm window. Keep it simple to start with. 

@hydro65 hi mate welcome to percys I think you’ll be ok with the Mars for all stages as they’re dimmable and if it’s autos your doing start and leave it on 18hrs 👍 with the feed hold off at the beginning depending on what medium you choose it could be that it already contains enough for the autos for a week or two possibly more. Autos can be fussy with to much feed and you can always add more as and when👊✌️

Dim down to about 30% at 18" above, when you have a couple of sets of leaves, turn it up to 50% ish, then full a week later

When would I make use of the dimmable feature, at the beginning as opposed to using CFL's at all?

I'm thinking, a mix of coco and soil.  Heading to home-depot soon, not sure what I should get feeding wise - both a Veg & a Bloom  or is there a mix of the 2 to use throughout the cycle?

I would stick with either soil OR Coco for your first...if you get a decent soil, you shouldnt have to feed at all in veg so just need Bloom A+B & PK

Coco is a daily feed, sometimes more than once, soil is a 2 day feed thing...depends on how much time you have

Yeah I’d stick with one or the other as for which soil to use you might be better asking @monkeydo or one of our American brothers on recommendations. Also if your growing in coco you’ll need to add a few more tools to your grow ph and ec pen although it’s not a bad idea to have a ph pen anyways ✌️

Home-Depot has a wide variety of Miracle Grow blends.

Something for Fruits and Veggies?  Should it be strictly for indoor use, like Potting Soil?  Should I mix any perlite in?
