As a result, I had to do some digging (because I'm extra) and also check my memory. I think there is an important point to Shane's chart that has been missed. Here is a screenshot. Note the star at the bottom:
So, plants can take higher DLIs if the PPFd is lowered via a 20/4 cycle, but as stated before, to do so, they must have an completely optimized and dialed-in environment with most strains needing supplemental CO2.

Hey, bro -- we all have our hurdles. At the moment, my little experiment with micro autos in self-watering pots is a dumpster fire due to the pots keeping the soil too wet and stunting growth of every plant but one (genetic diversity??). Now everyone can know to not use soil in those style pots. I am hoping that the newest sprouts in potting mix will perform better. Like you, I will be looking for hermies. Good thing there are more seeds to pop.

The DLI (42) in your original post still seems high, and close to the limit if you’re supplementing Co2.
