Hi all,

I was wondering peoples practices of drying their plants, I did a search on the site but couldn't find a lot.  I have never used a humidifier in my tent while drying, but find the plant is too dried out come about 6-7 days.  I am at the point of harvest and trying to consider whether I leave the humidifier in place, utilize my ink bird set to 55% RH, temp is about 70-73 degree F where I live and where the tent is, with a fan blowing on the humidifier toward the side of the tent.  I also have my extraction fan turned up some.  Anyway, interested to know what everyone is doing.

Thanks!

I set my ink bird at 60%. My temperature is 70+ this time of year.

I have a room to dry in. Not sure how a humidifier would work in a tent. Maybe outside your intake.. There are very small humidifiers though.

I’m lucky enough to live somewhere, where its dry as fuck in the winter and high RH & Dew Points late Spring & Summer.

I control RH throughout the entire process as much as possible, including drying. My basement rarely gets above 55% (I keep that as my basement max, its naturally lower in the Winter). I use a humidifier popular with folks that have reptiles. My unit is outside the tent, with a fogging hose that I poke in vent hole. It’s on and ready whenever my controller says it needs humidity, then turns off at the appropriate set point. I keep my basement at 55% in the Spring Summer, and Fall/Winter its in the 30% range. Drying I try and keep the tent at 60% (+/- 3%), and add humidity if needed.

Honor is simply the morality of superior men.

@cannanp, yes I use a humidifier controlled by a Inkbird on the low side and a exhaust fan on the high side of the same inkbird. Then a small fan inside pointing at the wall to mix the air. I could use a splitter with the humidifier and a small fan that both will come on at the same time and blow the humid air around. But I like to keeping the humidity up to 60%+/-, and then in winter I like to drop the temps down if possible to slow things even farther. So it all depends on where you are in the world and what your climate is, it's just basic juggling. lol Good luck man.

@woodi2 I did something very similar to this, hopefully it works out!  Fan pointed at humidifier toward tent wall.  Exhaust fan always runs to keep air moving (even in previous dries).

Thanks everyone, this would be my first time trying this and it is good to know what others are doing.  I’m US, mid Atlantic, typical hot August weather 80-90 degrees, 70’s inside.

@sevans1965 I like the idea of using a fogging hose to vent into the tent!

One other thing I forgot to mention—

I also have a fan pointed away from my buds. I also have my AC infinity extractor setup, so when the controller is in the off condition, the extraction fan is on speed setting #1.
