I always get gnats no matter how I water there’s a nest outside my next door garden tbh I’m looking at getting something to deal with them when they do fly in the window.
till then it’s not been a issue after I sussed nematodes was the best thing.
unfortunately with the post strike dragonfil & other local “ predator/nematode sellers aren’t posting live stock till the 3rd jan.
i got some different Mosquito pucks that dissolve to tide me over, I’ve not had much joy with dunks still these say kill larva within 24hrs however.
much prefer nematodes they will have to wait though, more bothered about is doing the above featured in the pic ok or could it help promote mould.

@mix everything should be fine really mate.... it will catch a lot of the pests thats for sure. I would say try and leave a little gap though so stale air can get out and fresh air can get in. I fit gets too moist mould might set into the main stem and you dont want that happening. Try to keep fresh air flowing under there

for those with good eyes the humidity says 76 & the temp 81f lol don’t worry about it it’s cause I turned the extraction fan of it’s normally 40 & 75f
as I just watered them I separated them a bit to let air in.

I am in the south of the uk bud we don’t get Mosquitoes here
the closest thing to them I think would be midges you only really get them in Scotland & they bite a lot! but there not as dangerous

The paper thing didn’t really work out as it goes as the fan blew them off not sticky enough.
i tried some of the above in the meantime while I wait for the po strike, seems ok however I prefer nematodes as I know they work good. Especially as one of the types can live without food for 4 weeks.
I’ll keep the bt tablets for emergencies.

only thing is bud am housebound & I would have to order a bag from Amazon saying that you did remind me I have a 1/4 of a bag of d.earth I forgot I had.
the tables are just BTI they killed the larva that was in the soil as this lot kills on contact tbh theres not enough to bother with d.earth I saw them quick enough.
i will have to stop using it a week before the nematodes come so that tablet might be the last one as it’s 5-7 day use & the nematodes will arrive w/c 2nd or so the email I got from them says & I paid for one day delivery as the difference was only £2.50
I reckon there pretty good tablets 1 does 10 gallon might give them a spin next time as a prevention.

@mix I use the BTI and Nematodes together. i keep the BTI (mosquito dunks) in my 25 gallon rez I replace it every month. and i water in nematodes every couple weeks (pot poppers)
my gnat issue has been gone for sometime now. i also havent seen any thrips in a while. now if i can just eradicate the mites.
Sativa to change the things I can, Indica to accept the things I can’t.

that’s cool I thought the bti might kill the nematodes sweet to hear they don’t.
bugs eh no matter how clean you keep things they show up I know some haven’t never had them how that happens I have no idea 😆
I’ve been lucky I’ve never had anything else bar gnats & a couple of mite invasions albeit that’s enough 😨
I had real success with the predators mites had to add two types however they cleaned up them real fast.
