Some of us are fortunate enough to be able to grow indoors....and fortunate enough to grow outside. However protection for indoors is usually easier to expect and prepare for...lock your doors....dont tell anyone and seal off the area...take fire precautions....but outdoors is completely relentless and unpredictable! I was thinking possibly for our outdoor growers in here we could put together a thread of what can be used or built to protect our precious babies from the elements other than a full on greenhouse. Some people as myself and some others just have some property or even just a backyard to grow in and cant build a complete greenhouse....but I'm sure some people have some brilliant ideas or products that can help out our fellow Percy's growers here. What are some ideas out there for protecting plants outdoors from the harsh elements!

Do better, feel better.

Don't grow outdoors. 🤣

Just kidding.. Maybe Dr. Greenthumb's sizzlean screen to block the nosey pigs' vision. 😀

Just kidding again (kinda). I dunno man, mine got nailed a few times from freak hail in a 2am storm last year.. have em in moveable pots and be a light sleeper was the solution there lol. Not much you can do besides some kind of greenhouse-structure. Even just a cheap hoop house with pvc pipe and some plastic works well. But that's a good amount of work..

Location is very important. Out of view from public but still open enough for air and sunshine. Security, dogs, cameras, signage for a legal grow so police don`t just walk away with it someday while your not around (lots of aerial traffic) etc... not just from people but animals like deer and raccoons. Choosing the proper genetics for mould, pest resistance and time. Nothing like growing a beauty that never gets to finish. Support stakes and netting. Companion plants for pests. My biggest problem last season was wind.

Nice post Cody 😉want to do a bit of outdoor my self soon so thinking, try it for autos in pots first I think😁 it’s the storms and sometimes the heat can get a bit high here. So was thinking moving them to the shade if to hot or crazy rain when they in flower. But I think the best for a easy life is a green house, but definitely not getting that the now. So someone help us 😁 we need protection for the girls without buying a greenhouse, like a cheap invisible easy movable one😂

I use one of these shelters bought on sale. If shit weather is forcasted I put the girls in, (got hail tother day)...one good reason for growing in pots. I'm going to build some kind of roof eventually, stop the heavy rain, hail, satellite debris, bird shite, etc, but not enough overhang to block sunshine. Sheltered from 3 sides and facing south, just what the doctor ordered 😎
