Survived the first frost
Last night the weather report said a low of 3°C, when I woke up and looked out the window my thermometer said 0°C but according to my family it hit -2°C last night. So it was pretty frosty. I`ve been through a couple cold nights like that before without worry but trying some new strains this year and everyone made it fine except my chili peppers .. lol. Are there any strains you think would not survive a night like that? These are the Alaska Purple aka Alaskan thunder fuck, and Gozilla Zkittlez.

I couldnt survive outside on a night like that lol. The plant might survive those temps, but it wont be growing. I dont think any strain will be growing at 0c
15°C and they start to shutdown to protect themselves...Frisian Duck is a good outside strain apparently
From this site... Outdoor Cannabis Grow Tips
Frosty mornings = frosty nugs. Allowing your plants to experience a light frost can enhance the final look of the flower and increase cannabinoid levels and yields.
Frost can bring out colours like purples and reds and causes the plant to increase cannabinoid production by making it think it’s dying.
The plant will drive energy into protecting its non-existent seed and by default produce more cannabinoid content in the plant. (Kurt Fisher, Production Supervisor)
We just smiled n waved sittn there on that sack o seeds
I read that about frisian dew as well and grew one plant. It did not clone well for me and was the first to show bud rot, too early compared to any other strain I had. As far as pests and powdery mildew it was great.
Ya the compost makes a big difference I think. I added egg shells and banana peels to the 35 gal pot with pro mix and perlite and the thing outdid my gorilla glue which had almost 3 months head start! Next year they are both going in the ground with some compost and fresh soil. Great job man.....big beauty buds! U get any seeds? I heard A LOT of guys got seeds this year
Do better, feel better.
Don't recall any frost-resilient strains I've known of 🧐 Temperatures below 48.2F (9C) usually have influence on the plant in some way. The damage to leaves will surely be caused, and they'll need to repair themselves before they resume to grow. The process could take a few days of good weather to complete. 2-3 next cold days will have worse consequences - the damage to the plant is multiplied. It'll be much harder for the plant to recover
To return the marijuana plant to its normal state, rise the temperature to the 60’s, and dont forget that the plants also need to receive adequate dose of sunlight to engage in photosynthesis.
The frost won't lower the THC concentration in the plant though, the last can only change color (often to purple shade)
