So I like to grow as much veg and fruit as I can.
I’m very fortunate to have a small garden, a small conservatory and a small allotment.
Today I’m even more fortunate as, after 2 years of saying it’s too pricy I finally succumbed, and my new Vitapod heated propagator is set up in my lounge. I think it might’ve been toploaders recent post which he showcased his and that was the last straw... I gotta have it 😂
For those who don’t know, this is the dogs dinner when it comes to propagation. You can ask Monty Don!
So if anyone’s interested I’m happy to post future pics showcasing the lives of these and other seedlings that make their journey through 2021 ... before hopefully, reaching harvest and eventually my stomach..??!!

PS the cinnamon is used as an anti-fungal (prevents any chance of damping off) and the vermiculite (in the bucket) helps improve germination rates by aiding heat and even moisture around seeds
If you’re ever struggling with germination or trying to germinate tricky seeds, these two are worth having in your tool kit 😉

When I was growing up, it was pretty rural but everyone, and I mean everyone had their own little garden of something, spuds, carrots, onions, whatever.
We have turned into a convenience world, unless you can open a packet and cook it straight away, it’s no good.

I’ve had my plot 3.5 years now and getting into the groove ...
I have a go at many things (veggies) focus my efforts on learning one or two things each year..
lots of successes, near misses and epic fails.
each time I sow some seed I have more idea about how to turn those fails into nearer misses and successes
Looking to defend my title of best potatoes as well as best carrots for the third year running... talk about pressure 😂😉 (there aren’t many entires btw)

I just keep trying, and learning, and nature and weather willing, something good will come.. always somethings don’t turn out how one wants though... these usually end up in my compost heap lol no pictures required 😉

A monthly-ish update:
pricked out some of the four kinds of lettuce and some (greyhound) cabbages and some spring onions..
Onion sets have sprouted and will be transplanted out soon..
I have 3-4 kinds of chilli seedlings in my veg tent too 😉
Next round of seed to be sown this weekend will include cauliflower and kale.... carrots, spinach and peas to be detect sown in polytunnel
first early potatoes will go in tubs of 20-60L and start life in the poly tunnel before being moved out in a couple months
Pics include my current soil mixing zone and current ingredients on trial 😉

Sounds like a plan. Want to use it for nursing the cutting from my Jack Herer, when I top it tomorrow. I'll give it a week in there, then I'll move the Vitopod into the greenhouse in readiness for sowing my veg.
