@bilbud Welcome to Percy's man! Great forum to learn to grow weed and there is no room in here for any kind of bullshit, just super friendly advice!! 😊 It can be intimidating for new growers to start out and people can make you feel like an idiot, but not here. Don't hesitate to ask any questions on anything in here, someone will guide you to the answer and if not, then to a person who will have it. We have growers of all sorts in here from hydroponic water systems to farmers in the dirt outside in the sun (when the snow is gone lol) and everything in between. Have you picked out some seeds yet? What strain are you thinking of/ have already? How are you planning to grow? 😊

Let it groooowwww...let it GROOOOWWW!!!

There are a couple of issues you need to fix if you are growing in a closet. First is air exchange. You need some kind of fan that will remove old stale and hot air and pull in cool fresh air. In a tent we do that with ports. In a closet you usually need to cut a hole for a vent.  Second is that most closets aren’t completely light proof so unless you want to do even more work trying to seal it light tight, autoflowers would be best. There are tents that are 36x20x62 that can fit inside a closet. That could solve the light leaks but you still have to allow for air exchange.

I started with a closet grow.. I have started seedlings and vegged plants in a kitchen cupboard before so Yes it's possible. As stated above air exchange is essential as is stopping light leaking in when plants are in flower stage.

There are purpose built plug and play cupboard systems ready to buy but they tend to be super expensive and easy enough to make your own.

if your cupboard dimensions are in feet (2x3) I'd be looking to grow 1 larger plant or 2 - 3 smaller well pruned plants. 9 feet in height in ample.

have you thought of whether you'll grow in soil or coco or hydro?

My standard recommendation for a first grow is white widow. It’s very reliable and easy to grow, produces lots of bud, and comes in both auto and photo strains. I prefer the photo because I like the control.

Id agree with all the above suggestions...

You could also consider what type of weed high you like

all modern strains are hybrids but some lean towards a head high (often sativa dominant) other more body stone couch lock effect (indica dominant ) and everything in between (like a 50:50 strain)

There is so much choice nowadays it can baffling. Another thought is grow something someone's done a diary of as it could act a a reference guide for you
