Questions DSW purge

@joeladalle hi mate, not sure what you mean by DSW, are you referring to DWC ? as in deep water culture? plenty of lads on here running DWC setups that would be able to help, just checking that's what you mean first. 

If you are speaking deep water culture I don't think it's a bad idea at all to use plain ph water for last few days as a flush.  My first grow earlier this year was dwc and I just didn't refill the water for the last week, gave it a nice senescence! Not saying that is something you should do, but it is something I did and it worked.  Haha

@joeladalle alright so I am more a coco grower than dwc but a few of the lads on here grow with DWC and should be able to point you in the right direction. As far as I'm aware most do a final flush and let it ride out the last week or so on plain water, theoretically it will allow the plant to use its own reserves to finish up. I'm sure one of the lads will be along with a clearer answer.

@joeladalle, yes Sir, three days max. Plain water, I do PH my water but many do not. I also use Florakleen from General Hydro the first 24 hrs. It help break down the salts. But I also drop the EC over the last few weeks down to almost nothing. Then plain water for the next 48hrs and then chop at dawn before lights on. Let me know if you have anymore question, I'm no expert but I've fucked up enough. 😉

I don't know for sure. But everywhere I've looked have always said 3 Days Max!!! Just like that too. So when I have my babies at the finish line, I don't want to start second guessing this info. LOL

  I haven't gone pass the three days myself, but like you I am curious about it. I do have a bunch of theories that I've read about the DWC and the three days. Seeing as how the roots are in water and availability of nutrients instantly, the flush happens much faster and anything longer can cause degrading of potency and other not nice things. But until we do a side by side test, with multiple identical clones, each taken to a different point then we won't know, it will continue to be Bro science. 

  So that's what I know about this. Same thing with Florakleen, I'm not a chemist so I can't tell you if it really works or not. Plus I haven't done a side by side on this either. But my buds are important to me so I heed on the side of error, and don't go over the three days. Also why I use the Kleen for the first 24 and then flush that out too.
