Hello All,

Just a quick question, I've read that some growers will put keep their plants in 24-36 hours of darkness right before the chop at the end of the flush.  They say the it can cause the plants some stress a tad bit and they will produce more resins.  Also that the chlorophyll will further be expunged in the darkness.  Has anyone tried this? Or is this just a bunch of bull.

Thanks!

Its one of those things that's not really proven mate. Having them in dark might reduce the amount of chlorophyll, that will make the smoke smoother, but all of these things are not properly tested.

IMO, just chopping before light come on will be fine, stressing the plant at the end can bring on other problems. More lights off time means lower temps, and mould can germinate and all that. You don't want to take any risks. I've tried it not not really noticed any difference, but give it a shot if you like. Just make sure temps stay above 18c Smile and humidity stays below 50%

Let us know how it goes. This actually give me a good idea for an article. Nice one Dave, good to see you pop in Smile Hows the crop going?

Thanks for the help deciding, i'm going to pass on trying it, sounds like it could cause more issues than its worth, I just want the harvest to be as good as possible, which by the looks of it.  Its looking good!  I actually have 2 first grows going on simultaneously which is making things crazy here at the moment.  But going good.  Ill post some more pics later today of both grows.
