Hi all. I have attached two photos of a couple of the plants that I am growing. I have tried to take a close up photo to see if the trichomes are turning amber. They still look milky to me but its an auto flowering plant that has already gone a couple of weeks over what they suggest the harvesting time should be. I don't want to leave it too long but also don't want to cut it too early.

Any thoughts if these are ready for harvesting yet?

Hi Tiffany, you need to use a jewellers loupe, and get 60-100x magnification, you can get cool clip on ones for your phone camera pretty cheap. Thats the best way to tell. Looking at that plant id say it has a couple of weeks left. But its really hard to tell without seeing the trichomes up close

Hi Tiffany. Yer, a magnifier is what most of us use to check ripeness. I’d like to add that the trichomes on the sugar leaves usually turn amber first. You really want to focus on the trichomes on the real bud and not so much the sugar leaves. Oh, and the breeders generally underestimate the time till harvest as it makes their products look more desirable. I don’t even begin looking till they reach the advertised numbers.
