I chopped my plants September 8th, What does everyone do to know they are dry enough to trim and jar up? I have them in my tent with circulation in darkness with 60 degrees F. and 60% humidity. I am thinking they would be ready the 17th or so. What do you all think?

@cloudychromes20 9 days at 60F and 60% humidity, doesn't sound enough. How do they feel to the touch? When you are saying circulation you mean that you had a fan blowing on them?

If you have some of the small hygrometers you can get on ebay, put some of your buds in a jar and see what the humidity goes to.

You can also us a moisture checker and see how the buds are going.

cheers

High @cloudychromes20, I agree with Mitsos, 9 days doesn't seem long enough with those temps and humidity. I used the snap test with my last dry and it worked pretty well. Pirate had some good advice also, Those small hygrometeres are cheap and fit right inside the jars with the buds once you're ready for cure. Here's something that may be helpful to you also. Goodluck! 👍

@mitsos they are sticky, dense and dry feeling to touch and squeeze. I have two fans blowing around the tent, neither fan blowing directly at the plants

@pirate33 thank you! I have jars and the small hydrometers ready for when it’s time to trim. If the humidity goes to high in the jar do I just take out and lay on cardboard to dry out alittle more or just slowly keep burping jars?

@cloudychromes20 I don't put all the buds in jars to check, depending how you have them drying in the tent.

I usually fill a jar around half full and check every hour or so.

Once satisfied that the buds are ready for jars I'll fill jars to about 3 quarters full.

When the humidity has settled I have been putting the buds into Grove Bags.

There is another thread going at present on Grove Bags started by BubbleHok.

cheers

@cloudychromes20 Yes, If the humidity goes to high in the jars I would remove the bud for a while.

This should help with any further questions, but if you need anything just ask. 😎👍

@cloudychromes20 I have a low humidity where im am most of the time.  but when i feel the buds are dry i will stick them in jars with the hygrometer. if the moisture level rises above 62% i dump them back out for a short time to further dry usually a few hours  then recheck.  once they are at 62% i will leave them in the jars and start burping them daily until they are 60% ( if they are below 58% i will add a leaf to the jar to help bring it back up) then ill leave the jar closed to cure checking them weekly and burping them enough to lower them to 58% where i like them your preferred % may differ but once they at the preferred % i stop burping them.

I have went with the grove bags and most of my bud stays good in them but i have a couple that have gone too dry. i may go back to the jars.

the hygrometers for the jars can be off, i check them against another hygrometer in the room to find ones that are more accurate.

hope this helps
