Artmann stainless steel kief separator build

I haven't figured out how to fastened the screen to the lid band. Can't use glue or tape. Dry ice could destroy it and I sure don't intend to smoke glue. All I think of is drilling a bunch of holes in the band and sew it on. I have fishing line that is called Spiderwire. You can't cut it with scissors or a regular knife. Takes a razor.

@artmann can you solder it on? id be tempted to see if i could tin the out side of the band and solder the screen to it.

I'm with @twisted1 on this some pretty decent soldering iron kits out there and may just do the job! 😀

I don't think solder would hold up to the 109 below zero dry ice. But I don't know exactly what it's made of. 

Could you not weave a lip into the mesh like fold it on its self a few times and sow it so when you clap it its pulled taught and kept in place that way you could take it of once finish,solder is a good one like twisted said other then that I'd use rivets and drill couple tiny holes and rivet it in place

Looked up solder. Old school had lead.  New stuff still emits dangerous fumes. Not sure what it does at 109 below .

I'm paranoid when it comes to weed.

Here's the old one. It's nylon bubble bag material. I sewed a silicone gasket top and bottom because kief was coming out that joint. I made the band wider on the new one hoping to solve that problem.

The clasp was funky at best. It worked but gathered fabric in a strange way. Eventually there would be holes.

Also, rivets force the band up. I have to pound them very flat for the band to lay down and keep kief from escaping out the gap.

I think I'll use the smooth part of a large hose clamp. Folding the mesh under is a great idea. I might get away with 4 rivets strategically placed around the band. It should be tight enough.  Then I'll use a utility knife to trim the mesh, using the clamp as a guide.
