Looked up solder. Old school had lead.  New stuff still emits dangerous fumes.

Yep, glad you decided against it. With all that vibration it’s not something I’d want to use long term.

Going to have to do it again but not until the new version wears out. A few flaws that still need to be worked out. But this version is a lot better than #1.

Yes sir. The vibration, the 109 below zero F temp and even oxidation and powdering of said solder could be a problem.

I watch all that stuff.

Thanks! Still needs a few bugs worked out but it is a vast improvement.  Wish I had a spot welder. I priced them. $200+. It would make it look like it came out of a factory. We'll see. Just bought the wife several hundred worth of crafting shit. Who knows?😂

So I'm looking at this other Bain Marie, the name of the stainless steel cans I used. The first lid/screen will work on it! The new one has a lip too. Can't shake the lid off. Lol. So I'll have a back up.

So I had the first lid/screen made of the 160 micron bubble bag. I found another Bain Marie can at Goodwill.  So I did another build.

Notice the hole in the can is not centered, the L-shaped bracket is. That is important. I used a long blade for my reciprocating saw. I ground the teeth off. I pop-riveted the blade to the L-shaped bracket. I trimmed one leg off the bracket to fit the can. Good luck drilling the bit. Ruined a drill bit. That stuff is hard. I made two large washers out of scrap stainless. They will strengthen the bottom of the can, which is thin. A big, fat bolt, washer and lock washer to join them.

Anyway, I laid out all the parts and accidentally formed a face! I was really high so I laughed like an idiot.

I'm easily amused. 😋
