So finally got round to washing my savings of freshly frozen material…
Here is a brief overview of the process I used …
Bags sets up a al Frenchie rip hash king 👑…
190u at the top to catch large contaminants and plant matter
160u next to catch any super large trichs / any escaped contaminants may appear here too to be removed
45u at the bottom for main collection of broad spectrum for a fuller representation of the plants I grew (this would be more meaningful if all material were single strain)
I save everything that passes through the 45u to be separately filtered through a 25u to see what’s there but usually this is mostly tiniest trichs which do not have much resin, broken stalks and smallest contaminants. If it is darker than the rest this is definitely the case.. you may be able to produce clean 25u also but typically I’ve never found this myself. It would of course depend which other catchment bags you use ahead of the 25u but using a 45u all the gold is already removed at this point if not before.
70 to 120 is often cited as the sweet spot for trich collection. By not using these all my gold will be in the 45u.
My bag / bucket set up
Machine is loaded with layer of ice on bottom then the material then more ice..
Overloaded the machine at first with 600g material then decided to do it in 2 batches (took Frenchies advice in the end ! Lol)
First wash at 1 minute
subsequent washes increased a touch each time but most around 3 mins.
Each time i collected I pressed material in a 25u handkerchief sandwiched in kitchen roll to suck out excess moisture.

final collections weighed in at 42g collected in the 45u bag which be be less when dried.
Currently in the freezer atm so I can chop it up / micro plane it easier to allow a quicker more even dry. Then I will roll / press it using hot water bottle technique.
Also looking forward to pressing a little into some hash rosin.

Next time I'll trying a 220 bag inside the washer. It holds all the buds in a sack, that's what came with my machine. I know Frenchy didn't use one but maybe keep contaminates down? I have the same type of machine that Frenchy used, but he didn't mention it. I'll try it. Are you going to replace the drain hose on your unit? Your hash looks great, good luck with the planning. Try to keep your finger tips!! LOL

i didnt have a problem not using a holding bag... it drained fine and i used a hose like in the vids to rinse the machine and the bags...having a lot of ice on the bottom acted as filter of sorts i noted.. also i was using a lot of buds so they didnt break down / disintegrate.. i was able to keep the 'integrity of the plant material' in tact as Frenchie might say !
the 180u will catch any large contaminants that the 220 would do so no issue their imo
cleaning tips:
- to remove those last bits of material at the end half refill machine with warm/hot water and turn on.. those bits will float to the surface where you can skim them off with a sieve
- drain and rinse through after and ensure machine is fully drained by turning on corner..
- dry with paper towel and wipe down with 99% isopropyl. Rinse through again then drain as above, aerate and ensure dry before storage.
Are you going to replace the drain hose on your unit?
i wanted to change this as suggested in vid but the L fitting i bought wasnt the right size .. i found it worked well even with the original hose.. mine came with 2 hoses, a thinner and a wider one.. i went with the wider one (3/4inch)
i will replace at some point but i think if cleaned well its good for a few uses more

Totally forgot you were using fresh even thou I just read it. Then no I probably wouldn't use a "bag" with fresh. But I will consider it will dry bud.
