High on Home Grown Changes for 2022

As the new year approaches, it is a good time to make some much needed changes to the show, and we would like to involve you more in the process of making it! 

To start with, when we do the live show on Sundays, it has always been us recording the show, ready for the downloaded version which comes out on Tuesday. This is going to change a little. The show will still take place on Sundays, live, for our regular listeners. But the link will only be found here on Percys, or sent out to the mailing list, it will not be a public show on youtube. So all of you will still be able to watch it, you just won't get YouTube notifications

You may notice a little bit of a change ot the flow of things, as we may do our intros a couple of times throughout the show rather than just once at the beginning. But we will see how it goes on Sunday, it is as new to use as it is to you

Out intentions here, is to not be so rushed throughout the show. We can often go over 2 hours and 30 mins on the show, and it can be along time to stream live. Because of this, we are removing most of the smaller sections of the show, and just keeping the good stuff. This will allow us to spend more time on the sections without feeling rushed. This is how the show will be laid out on Sundays:

Introduction: We will introduce the show and ourselves, and let you all know what we will be covering in the show. This is just for the live show and will not end up in the downloaded versions. We will give the shout outs, and have a quick catch up before we move on to the next section of the show, which will be:

Cannabis News: The news section has become a favourite piece of the show for many listeners, but it can feel rushed sometimes in order to fit everything in in time. To prevent us having to rush it to cram everything in, we will extend the cannabis news and events section to at least 1 hour!! This will give us more time to discuss important stories, and maybe even cover more news too!! 

For this, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!. We want to know what stories you would like us to cover in this section. To do this, head to the live chat on the forum, and you will see a room labelled "HOHG News and Ideas". If you have a news story that catches your attention, and you would like the panel to discuss it, it would be a great help to us if you left a link to the article there. We will add this to our show notes and discuss it on the show on Sundays. 

The news and event section will also have forum and podcast news near the end to make sure you're all up to date with things regarding percys and HOHG every week. 

This will then be edited, and put out as it own episode every week, that is released on Mondays.

The Interviews: The interview will no longer be played on Sundays live show! We want to keep the show live, and any pre-recorded interviews will be put out as a show of its own every Wednesday. Instead, we will play a 5 minute section of this week's interview as a sound byte, to show you what will be coming up on Wednesdays download. 

Some interviews will be live for Patreons and Youtube Members, as they happen, they will be then edited and sent out to everyone every Wednesday. This gives us the chances to release more interviews in full, rather than having to cut them all down to 25-30 minutes to fit in the live show. Again, this makes things feel rushed, and we really want to slow things down and discuss things more. So making the interviews a show of their own will give us more time on Sundays to talk about the news, and grow guides. But also allows us to release more of the epic interviews we have in full, so you don't miss out on some of the conversations we have with the legend we have on the show.

Finally!

Grow Guides and Questions and Listeners Mail:

We are starting again with grow guides to cover more of these topics in greater details. We will start at the very beginning of how to grow, and make our way through the whole process. This will help new growers figure out what to do, but also offer lots of gems of info to already experienced growers. We are going to structure it week by week and break down each part of growing to give you all a deeper insight into each section. I feel like this is going to make a big difference in how we can explain things. 

Again, on a Sunday, we want to try and keep the show under 2 hours, and with all of the older sections, we could only dedicate 20-25 mins to grow guides. We are making this a section of its own now and this will give us way more time to talk about these topics in more detail. Then, each grow guide will be released as its own episode on Fridays. 

The topics we discuss will go on for about 45 -50 minutes. During this time, any question you maybe have can be put in the live chat ( using a Q before the sentence), so we can cover then during the grow guides section to. 

But it would also help a lot if you guys could provide us with some questions you think may be important to each topic. 

If you head to the live chat on the forum, you will see a new room "HOHG Questions". It would be great if you could post questions in there for each episode if you have any, or think that it would be a good questions for the listeners. You may already know the answer, but it may benefit people who don't know it if you ask it. 

The questions given to the panel, that do not relate to the topic of the episode will be left until the end of the section and covered when grow guides has finished. These will the be put together and released with the full grow guidees episodes on Fridays. 

That's about it really. Our intention here is to break down the episode to the most important sections, and give us more time to have some laughs and banter throughout the show, but also go into more detail on these topics, and for news too. I think it will over all make for a much better experience of the show.
