Grow Diaries Sevans-Grow #18, Getting wet & wild with Amy (Amy Aces)

Flipped today. Tomorrow is the 6th week since moving the clones into the RDWC System, as much as I’ve been defoliating the last few weeks, hindsight, I should have flipped a week ago. 
Did another heavy defoliation two days ago, no signs of stress, next day the girls were back to growing, and got the 2nd net up yesterday. 
I won’t switch to bloom nutes until 21 days from today, no more trimming until then, but I expect I’ll be training the growth thru the 2nd net. 

6 days shy of the 3 week mark since flip. I’m quite pleased at this point with the canopy height, especially with two different cultivars in this system! 😀😎

Amy Aces on the left just started showing signs of flower, Nakatomi Plaza started showing signs about 10 after flip. 
Next Tuesday will be 3 weeks since flip, so I’ll be switching to bloom nutes, and some heavy defoliation in order. 

Nice tent, give them babies some more calmag. The leaves are showing it. Without it and starting the PK, they suck it out. Plus, more light during flower. You could always spray them too.   Nice full tent though, good work.

lighter leaf color between the veins ? 

Yeah, man. It's at the early stage but can progress quickly. Low nitrogen will cause a light green color, similar to what you've got. Then, low magnesium will start the chlorosis between the veins.

I like to start ramping up the calmag before flip. By flip time I like to be at around 3ml of calmag. Then I'll slowly increase (if needed) until week 6. If I hit 4ml, that's a lot but I have gone as high as 5ml per gallon. 

Since I use General Hydroponic line up, the calmag is 1-0-0, with 1% Nitrogen, 5% Calcium, 1.5% Mag, and .1% Iron. You can definitely use all of those.

A healthy cannabis plant should be on the darker shade of green. If it's on the lighter side, it needs a sandwich. IMO!!!!

Yours are doing great, they're just experiencing a growth spurt. Plus, your light is probably cranking too. So, it's easy for it to happen, and easy enough to fix.

This is an example of a Mag deficiency. 

I like this chart too, forgot I had it. Bottom left hand corner. (I had to do some digging to find the sob. lol) 

I'd foliage feed again if they look like they need it, I know your in flower. Otherwise, just add to the rez. Sometimes I have to shuffle nutrients around to make room for the Cal/Mag, but it's a MUST. It's the Uber driver for most nutrients!!! LOL

Couldn’t wait the full 21 days before defoliating, since all the girls are in flower figured it wouldn’t hurt doing it a few days early. Not the best photo, it was late by the time I was done (at times I feel my tent isn’t positioned ideally for total 3 sides of access, one side I have to be a bit of a contortionist). 

I wanted to help airflow since they are growing vigorously, and I wanted the girls to only focus their efforts on prime bud development!

2 days after defoliating two 5gal buckets of trim, tomorrow is 21 days since flip, and time for a nute change, switching to bloom nutes tomorrow. Last pic, roots are bright white, camera is balancing color between the black buckets, white plumbing etc.

Switching to Bloom nutes tonight, it’s been 21 days since flip. It’s been 10-14 days since my last change, but one top off since. I usually check and clean filters during a full nute change, these old nutes are pretty clean, no visible biofilms (that can fuck with your pH), and the filters are pretty clean for 10-14 days on them. The first filter pictured is connected to the main system pump, and sees 3+ times the flow the other filter sees! The Rez below the fill line is nice and clean also 😊

the feed chart on the nutes, I start at the top line for the A/B, from there I let the girls tell me when to start bumping up the EC (based on whether they are drinking or not, and what the daily pH and EC drift is). 

Things starting to stack nicely. It’s been almost 4 weeks since flip (3 days shy).

How did you get on with the deficiency? Did you manage to cure it ? Just wondering I assume it was a cal mag thing ? I couldn't see anything in your later pics .

Love how does buds are developing,  seeing the buds beginning to stack is one of my fave parts of the grow.

4 weeks since flip (1 day shy actually). 
Nakatomi Plaza’s kicking arse comparatively speaking, but the Amy’s on the left are coming along nicely. 

Yesterday was five weeks since flip. Amy Aces (L) , Nakatomi Plaza (R). I’m unintentionally hitting the nutes hard, getting some burn and fighting my pH a bit, it keeps wanting to drop, I’ve been adding back water to get the EC down, a few days since a nute change and it’s starting to settle down as I get my EC down to 1.1 (was at 1.19).

6 weeks since flip. All the bud shots are the Nakatomi’s on the right. Last full “bloom nute” change no later than this Fri/sat. Then 2 WEEKS, start the last 2 week nute mix (a semi flush). 

8-1/2 weeks since flip, fucked up a bit on my calendar, I was supposed to start my final nute phase starting week 8, not the end! Not a biggy. 

all the thricomes are cloudy, so I changed nutes last night and have reduced my ppfd. Next 2 WEEKS, I’m aiming for about 800 ppfd, and my nutes at 350ppm.
