Hows it going, this is my first time growing, I jumped in at the deep end (blindfolded and upside down.haha) I dont know how but iv managed to get 2 plants growing, I was only wanting 1 plant but I thought none of my seeds were going to work but ended up with 2 sprouting.

One plant looks pretty healthy but the other one has a couple of yellow/brown leaves that look a bit rotten, iv looked at videos on youtube and thought it might be potassius deficiency, I put some epsom salts on it 2 days ago, just wondered if anyone could help me find out whats wrong. cheers Smile

@stootie Hi man, welcome to Percys Smile Can you tell us more about the grow? What you're feeding it and what kind of soil you have the plant in?

Also, can you take a pic under natural light? Its hard to tell the plant colour when its under purple Smile

Hi & welcome to Percys Smile
From that bottom picture and the location of the damage, I'm gonna guess at that heater being the culprit...plant too close ??

When you did the Epsom salts, did you move the plant around and was that bit originally next to the heater ?

@macky  Cheers mate Smile yea its just soil from a field im using, I think it was about the 15th of november the first seedling stuck its head up, the only light I had at the start was one of them small ones off amazon with 3 metal armes that you can twist about and I had them in a small cupboard in the bedroom, but now iv got 2 Roleadro 75w lights and moved it all into my shower room.haha Iv got a small fan in there too.

Iv been feeding them with Bio Grow a couple of times a week, about 2ml in 1ltr of water, I used rain water to start with, then started usind tap water ( I let it stand 24hrs before use) and Iv been using some Marphyl marine phytoplankton soil enhancer sometimes instead, I wait till the soil is dry before watering.

I transplanted them into those buckets, one on the 6th of jan and the other (the sick one) on the 12th. Iv had them under light for 18 hrs a day.

these pics arent very clear either, its maybe nothing too serious if it doesnt get worst.

Iv never checked the ph of any water yet but should have a ph tester home in a few days, iv done everything totally back to front, got the seeds growing then start panic buying things that I should had first.lol

@zn Thanks mate Smile I had just watered it before I start looking online to see what might be wrong, I watched a video that had leaves that looked kinda the same yellow look as my plant had and they said it was potassium problems, so I got some epsom salts and sprinkled about a teaspoon of it round the plant, and sprayed only a small amount of water on it cos I didnt want to over water as I had just watered it about an hour before. I dont think its problems from the heater cos Iv been turning the buckets round every few hours and theres not really mega heat coming from the heater. The room temp is about 21 and moisture usually about 60ish.

A few weeks ago the edges of some of the leaves were a bit yellow, I thought it might be nutrient burns, it never really got any worse tho. Then I noticed that couple of leaves that look rotten.

My other plant is about the same distance from the heater and it seems to be doing ok.:)

@stootie haha, exactly. There’s no right and wrong way to start, there are better and worse ways but getting that start is the most important bit. It seems the general feeling is that you’re best off saving up and getting quality gear you can afford rather than rushing out and picking up the first thing you see. You’ll find what’s best for you. Researching is half the fun 😂👌🏼

Hey man nice to see you here. You seem like the learning by doing kinda guy... I like your style mate 😉

The room temp is about 21 and moisture usually about 60ish.

In my experience that is too low a temperature, add to that too high a RH. I would try to increase the temps and shoot to at least 24C and reduce the RH to at least 50%-ish (+/- 3%). And if you can get your hands on an oscillating fan even better.

@galandil Ahh thanks for that mate, iv just upped the temp a bit now, Its not what you would call the perfect grow room that iv got here, the temp and RH kinda bounces about a bit, I had 2 cups of water in there too cos I thought the RH needed to be above 60, iv taken them out and its at 55 now. I'll need to get a tent for the next grow. Its just a small usb fan iv got in there at the moment. I got 2 of those emergency blankets in the post today, just finished fitting one round the walls so its a bit brighter in there now.

A few weeks ago I watched a video about auto flowering plants, before that I didnt know what auto was, I just thought it was a case of you plant the seed, flower grows and you harvest the goods, i didnt realise some plants had to be manually put into the flowering stage, and by then my plants were about 1ft tall, so I had to email the seed folk to find out what kinda seeds I had, LoL   they told me my seeds were both fem strains, so I am learning the hard way.lol

@macky Hows it going mate, wasnt sure if i should start a new thread to ask more questions or just do it here, my plant doesnt seem to be getting any worse so I was just wondering if you think it would be ok to jump into the flowers tonight. haha at 6pm tonight my lights will have been on for 12 hours, i was thinkin about flippin the switch then, or do you think I should wait a wee while yet just to make sure, theres still about 5ft growing hight to go before they hit the roof so space isnt really a problem, theyve been growing since the middle of november so its likely more than ready for flowering, not sure how long they should normally be in veg before you flower them Smile
