@kabongster I would try logging out and back in. I believe there is a control (F5?) thats works also but im not sure the right one. Maybe @Macky will chime in with the answer

Avatars take time to update, depends on several factors going on in the background. When I modified mine it took several hours to update across the site but it eventually happened. The avatar showing on this thread is the one currently in your profile so maybe this is already fixed @kabongster
