Hi All,
I currently have a 80x80x180cm grow tent, i am running at 24c and humidity around 60%. A friend of mine has the exact same set up but a larger tent and a different light. I had 3 plants growing and after 2 weeks they really slowed down so i took one plant to his (as he was having more success) We are using the same schedule, same water and feed same everything apart from the tent and light, so can anyone tell me if the picture below is the correct light spectrum as I have no idea why else they have stopped growing.
All help appreciated
Light spectrum is ok...pretty standard for latest LED lights. What is the difference between yours & your mates light...maybe yours too low/too much light/too high
Could be a number of reasons though
He brought his from the same seller and everything says its the same, but looking at it the light from mine is obviously not white (Blue and red ) but his is just white light. I dont know if it is the light, ventilation or what but this is the second attemp, both times everything has gone well for 2 weeks, then it just seems to stop. 4 leaves on both plants. The smaller non jagged leaves have curled on one of them also. I am going to try change the airflow with a slightly better fan but after that i cant think of anything else
is there a switch on it? Veg light and flower? Maybe thats why youre not getting the same light as your mate?
Nope not even an on/off switch just the hole for the power cord. I will upload some pics in a min of my whole set up. I am very new so it could be something really obvious that i cant see. Thanks for the help so far!!
All good mate, get some pics up, and leave the brand and model and ill look it up, we will get to the bottom of it
How often and with what are you feeding them ?
Ventilation is not so much an issue, I have 4 autos in 3rd week of flower with no ventilation at all, just a tent in a room, and they're fine. Also, the two non jagged leaves (cotyledons) are the plants initial food source so dont worry too much about them
The first lot i had which i was watering far too often (4-6 times a day) Now week 1 was twice a day but now i am using the same schedule as my friend which is just once a day. You will see when i can get pics there isnt a lot of room in there as the heater is quite large and i only have a small tent. One is doing better than the other but is so slow like the first attempt. On Thursday last week i took one to my friends like i said and yeterday he told me it has doubled in size, its winding me up. Photos will be as soon as the Mrs can take them as im out
Ok mate, first thing, you gotta stop listening to your friend. We have a lot of people do this, and most of the time, the friend don't know much themselves and advises badly. Not saying this is the case with your mate, but we see it often 😉
Lets see some pics of the plants, and the set up. Also what food you're using
You're in coco, that's my medium 😉 , so i got you covered, we can fix it man. You'll be smashing it in now time.
Need to know the EC and pH of your feed, and run off to if you can mate. All this info will help us get you on the right track. The more info you can give us the better.
Bro I listened to a friend and he was going to get me to throw out a Fem auto that started to show calyxs .lucky for me I found this forum the se night and was advised that it was indeed a Fem not make as I was told by a mate .
Listen to the blokes on this forum, they know what they're talking about.
Best of luck mate .
So here we go,
The Light is unbranded, the only info is in the above picture + (From seller page)
1x LED Grow Light 600watt Model
UK Plug model for Safety works perfectly for Grow and Bud,
Gives off the spectrum of a 600w grow light but only use 35watt from the plug amazing savings on your electricity
Size : 33.5x11.5x1.5 CM
100% Full Spectrum LEDS :
280nm ~ 315nm influence on morphological and physiological processes is minimal
315 nm ~ 420nm chlorophyll absorbs less impact photoperiod effect, prevent stem elongation420 nm ~ 500nm (blue) chlorophyll and carotenoids absorbed the largest proportion, the greatest impact on photosynthesis500 nm ~ 620nm dye absorption rate is not high620nm ~ 750nm (red) chlorophyll absorption rate "high", has a significant influence on photosynthesis and photoperiod effect750nm ~ 1000nm absorption rate, stimulate cell elongation, impact of flowering and seed germination> 1000nm converted into calorie
(600w Model) but runs at 85% less than a 600w hps so there is massive saving on power and heat,
The temp is between 23 and 27c, the humidity always sits between 55 and 60%
The PH in the water i use is 6.8 (bottled smart water) I know this is a bit high but my friend who's setup i mentioned erlier is using regular tap water which is much higher in Norfolk (around 7.5)
The plants broke the surface of the soil 15 days ago.
I am using General Hydroponics (pic of the amounts used included)
All uploaded, above
600w grow light but only use 35watt from the plug
Its not a good light mate..... you're going to need a better one i think. That is BS really. Not enough wattage. Its definitely not full spectrum either.
You might do well bringing it closer to the plant, about 16 inches would be enough. Bu i think you should invest in a new light ASAP mate. Everything else in the kit looks good for a first etup, but the light is not good enough for a full cycle grow. Barely even good enough for a good veg tbf.
OK cool, thats what i was kinda hoping,
I have read a few things about a convention heater not being great and also the amount of space in the tent?
Finally would the light (although this seems obvious) be responsible for the plants growth being stunted after 10days ish and what i think are weak stems?
If anyone has a good lamp for around £50 or a link to one on amazon (I have no idea what to look for) Please Share
Thanks again
My first Indoor grow I bought a couple Castanoo lights supposed to be 1000w lights, I checked the wall Draw and they were around 45w the lights emitted a red light, My seedlings were not happy at all, I ended up with Marshydro 300w lights ( 138w from the wall) and they took off, when it came time to flower they done a decent job with 2 lights and 2 plants. I also purchased 4 Viparspectra 300w lights and have had similar results, these would be my minimum for led lights using one per plant full grow, Others here may have other ideas with CFL's or T-5's in your price range or for a quick fix.
Looking on Amazon I only found this light thats close that im familiar with Good luck on your grow .
