@chillbert i saw 10k kelvin metal halide finishing bulbs which provide uv bring on some incredibly frosty bud.. i want to bring in some uv as well   .

@chillbert I might be kinda late, but I'm a noob here lol. hey so I'm curious how far above canopy you've found useful with that migro bulb? I'm using a very similar bulb for the first time, the agromax 2foot pure uv, and have a little tip burn going on as you can see in the photo attached. I don't thinks she's too mad at me but I am a little over 2 foot off already. also I'm curious how you found the results compare to your plants that are not exposed to the uv-a/b bulb. any advice on the subject would be appreciated!

hi and thanks for digging up this old thread which needs some answers!!

i've now used the uvb for 3 grows-ish and tried at various heights and also for various durations..

so far ive found it best hung around 2 and a half feet above the canopy. This is typically a 18 inches above my led grow lights.

i started using it for the last 2-3 weeks of flower for 2 hours a day mid-cycle.

Now i am using it from earlier on once buds have formed and trichrome production is happening, around week 5 of flower, on a 9-10 week strain, so the last 4-5 weeks of flower, starting at 1 hour per nigh then increase to 2hrs for last 3 weeks.

my thinking behind the earlier than recommended (by Shane at Migro) use is more trichrome production as a result of the longer time exposed to uvb, This will come at a reduction of possible final yield of flower, but i want to make hash and concentrate which require masses of trichromes, not  mass of flower... i am still experimenting and not very scientifically at that, but can say confidently the uvb has some effect for sure.

If you search dutch passion website they printed their findings on using uvb and showed increase of certain terpenes and cannabinoids .. interesting stuff

@chillbert @stonedalldayinneok I am glad to see this convo. The info from Shane at Migro caught my eye, and I have been looking for a good alternative bulb here in the states, but not had a lot of luck. I did see the Agromax, but have not yet had the chance to look at it closely; I thought it had a reduced UVB spectral transmission compared to the Migro, but do not quote me on that.  At any rate, I am interested and considering adding a bulb to my current grow once I flip to flower, and I just wanted to chime in.
