Hey, i am pretty confused on this topic:
From what I know about all plants in general, they use the nutrients that they need in that moment to flower or grow new leaves.
We give vegetables the same fertilizer all the way through even when its a one season crop.
Azaleas bloom beautifully every year with what’s available to them.
what’s the difference when it comes to cannabis?
Is it really as sensitive to nitrogen, in the flowering stage as people say it is?
When you’re using “Living soil”, but still adding a small amount of fertilizer each watering are you obligated to switch to something higher in Phosphorus and Potassium?
@marswormcastings Hi mate, I think the reason nitrogen is an issue is because not enough and you have a sick plant, the plant will have quite a wide range of nitrogen levels that it will grow happily in, but before you get to the point where it will hurt the plant there is a range where it hurts the flavour of the weed.
Mother nature teaches us how little we know something every time we grow something.
Don't know the full answer to your? But just in my experience, when I used to much nitrogen in the flowering stage I got really leafy airy bud, the leaves were like a dark green aswell, I just thought it was very healthy, I found out the reason looking through Percy's. Probably doesn't help much, but to help your grow I wouldn't go crazy during flowering with the nitrogen. With the living soil I wouldn't add extra nutes unless it starts showing a deficiency. But I could be wrong, I usually am lol
I live the life I love, I love the life I live.
Here my take on it, just my own thinking on the matter.
It may work with some plants giving N throughout their grow, but the different nutrient are needed at different times/stages throughout the life of the plant. N is for growth, for building, leaves, stems branches and roots, once these are developed the plant doesn't need to grow anymore- now it needs to develop and maintain. This is were the PK goes to work, but if you keep a bunch of N hanging around well the N still wants to keep building while the plant is trying to develop, so it will develop but while it's still grow hence giving larger stretched out growth. Airy buds and large node space, stretched out growth that can't hold it's self up, the list goes on.
In soil the plant decides what it wants to eat from the soil and what the microbes have for it. With bottle nutz they are chelated (I call it wrapping the food in sugar, no one can resist sugar) so the plant will uptake them whether it wants to or not, that's why there's set amounts on the bottle.
there are others here far more experienced on this subject than me, some are text book smart and some a bit of dirt under their nails, but all great. Let's wait and see. 🧐 lol
Nitrogen tastes very bad in every plant. U can try this by adding nitrogen on lowering moon one week before harvest. Salad should taste horrible after that. With rising moon the bad nitrogen stacking to plant is 9x less (german study). 2much nitrogen also prevents all plants from flowering, they just stay on vegetative stage with deep green/blue leaves. Nitrogen with gibberollic acid in nature is spring. Lots of fungi and ethylene and PK from flowers and fruits is autumn.
Ganja has been breeded to eat lots of salts, atleast in america. Autoflowers/outdoor lines usually dont like as much salts than indoor 12/12 breeded ones. But anyhow cannabis uses unusually much P phosphorus in flowering stage. K potassium seems to stack up in many permaculture soils for ganja.
Good weed
@marswormcastings blue leaves+ burned tips in harvest is not smooth smoke. If my plant is anyway blue when i put it in to flower stage, then i dont add nitrogen anymore. I think i kinda have living soil. Atleast theres things living in there.
Good weed
