Are You A Medical User ?

I started out over 50 yrs. ago, using for recreational purposes as I got older I quit as tried to stay away from sections of towns where they became known as drug alleys and doesn't go well with employment. Couple years back my Dr. recommended when state legalized medical use, he also told me to learn to grow my own and not to tell anyone as he said they are robbing people for the price of a license and the cost of product in this way he could ween me off pain meds.

The med vs. rec line.. classic. I like to think all rec is fundamentally med, but not all med is rec.

For myself, I've had stomach problems (IBS-A they call it...) since about 2011 to which cannabis has been about the only thing that has provided me any relief. I've had a legal medical authorization since 2014 but, used cannabis as such well before that. I've tried a shit ton of pharma stuff, therapy, the whole nine yards and cannabis is about the only thing that seems to be worthwhile to use. When I use it, I feel like I use it to bring myself back to 'baseline' where I can get on with shit normally like the rest of us. I rarely get traditionally 'high' or 'stoned' in the sense of pigging out and playing video games or whatever, not that there's anything wrong with that lol.  But yeah, I treat it almost like a supplement more than a solution as it doesn't 'cure' me per se, but rather allow me to be able to do the things that I need to do in order to work on getting healthy, i.e., eat proper food, exercise, etc.

But it's been said to have preventative effects against severe brain shit, as well as regenerate and strengthen bones, and we all know that stress and the resulting inflammation are a major contributor to basically all disease, so something that can reduce that root cause, regardless of the user's intent, is a good thing.

I feel like it's like Integrated Pest Management for the body, but instead of Steinernema feltiae, Orius insidiosus, and Amblyseus swirskii in the garden, we have Cannabidiol, Tetrahydrocannabinol, Cannabigerol, et al., and the army of terpenes and flavenoids in our veins.

I am both. I have several health conditions that it helps me with. Before it was fully legal here  I had my medical license for it, which my shrink signed off on being ok. (he said he did not really support it but would not stand in my way because it was not likely to do any harm)

On the other side, I have enjoyed it socially for 40 years. My god, did I just say 40 fucking years?? I'm old as dirt.

Medical, without going into details. But the Rec side is fun too .. seriously since I increased my knowledge of cannabis = less alcohol .. less pain relievers .. less pharmacy drugs in general. Increased overall quality of life. And a whole lot less expensive if your able to grow your own.

I concur my dear cannuk friend.

For me, it is a healing living being. And all the aspects of it. Researching about cannabis, growing her, consuming it both for good times and health issues. I can spend hours doing anything Cannabis related.

Since I started growing and consuming, I stopped consuming alcohol, I gradually went vegan, started questioning many things... Meeting Lady Cannabis open the pandora box for me but in a completely positive way.

Cannabis is also for me at this point not just a plant, is also a statement, political and societal one. We will not accept your patronizing in telling us what we can or can't grow in our gardens, what we can or can't do with and to our bodies and our consciousness, as long as we aren't hurting anybody, but I think that's obvious if not to all, to most of us here.

@galandil That is brilliant mate, pure poetry. Iv been bothered with anxiety all my life so I had to get drunk to get enuff confidence to go out in public, even simple things like going to the shop was a problem for me. I was drunk nearly every wknd since I was 16 - mid 30's, then I got hooked on legal highs for a few years. (a bit late in life to start taking drugs haha) But smoking cannabis got me off the booze, drugs and beat depression, it basically saved my life. It made me look at my own ego and how I treat other people, question reality and whats going on in the world. Im 44 now, I just wish I hadnt wasted half my life in a toxic drunken stupor before meeting the green Goddess, Now it makes me enjoy being alive, it makes life fun again something I hadnt felt for a very long time.

defo fixed my life years of being on migraine medication even started giving me oramorph towards the end. got my hands on a cheese joint one day and the whole rest of the day it was gone been getting weed in ever since chance my life. and now ive gotten a cancard (not had to use it yet ) hopefully this bullshit stigma can change were not  lazy bastards watching jeremy kyle/jerry springer all day in messy houses. we are just normal people that have found natural medicine not the big pharma poisen.

@echo well said. So I've come to understand, our bodies rely on our endocannabanoid system to regulate neural and immune response. As far as I can tell, no testing is done to see whether conventional 'big pharma' drugs impinge with this vital system at all.
