Went to an old friends 65th birthday party last night, we started school together, some 60 years ago. He has stage 4 cancer, with only palliative care now being offered. Were I to ask him I don't think he'd be expecting miracles, but some additional pain relief is likely in his near future. Anyone have any recommendations on resources I might point him to for advice and potential procurement ?

Personally I have been giving him some of my percy he likes the blue sherbet og says it help with his nausea and helps him sleep.

I definitely 2nd this; the Bonni Goldstein "Cannabis Is Medicine" book is really good. It isn't just some collection of anecdotal "My mate had blah wrong with them and smoking weed sorted them out." kind of book.
It's a really well thought out and put together reference.
It explains the endocannibinoid system of the body, a range of illnesses, and the pro's and con's of THC, CBD, CBD-G, the various terpenes (and their medicinal benefits), and how to use cannabis medicinally, and lists ALL of the academic references for all of the points made throughout the text, at the back.
I've found that a 1:1 ratio of THC:CBD works really well for my pain, and that it also helps me to stay alert and get on with my day better than the opiate based medication that I was previously prescribed.
I'm not a cancer patient, but I'm sure that you and your friend will find a lot in "Cannabis is Medicine" to help inform your descision making process, and it has enough academic depth that even the most naive GP or specialist Dr. would be able to discern the best course of pain and other symptomatic relief for your friend.
I think that Dr. Bonni's book is an ideal way to introduce the sceptical to the benefits of Cannabis.

Unfortunately, this person is unwilling to get past the prohibition era say-no bullshit, despite have easy access to cannabis and having presented ample research. I tell you that just because there are some cultural hurdles for some people that a just unsurmountable, despite good intentions, just so you are aware heading into this.

Sorry to hear this bro. For us in the UK, people cant use cannabis for treatment like that because if they die, they will loose any insurance claims because of using an illegal substance. So no life insurance payout for family n shit. Its bad man. There is plenty of evidence to show cannabis helps with some cancers, but people are still unable to use it because of the stigma, crazy shit man
