@spab if street weed has helped you then chances are many strains will also help. Maybe start with something that many agree has a proven record of easy to grow and good for pain in the case of most users, something like White Widow. As you grow and try different strains you will probably develop preference for certain ones. If you are interested in something with higher CBD then Seedsman CBC Cream and Cheese might be nice.

@spab, my arthritis is consist so really just relaxing the muscles is what helps me. I'm on the Tommy Chong quest to find my favorite strain, I'm sure it's in the cannabis family. lol

Some sativa strains are pretty energetic and if harvested early can increase and may not be the best choice for evening or late night. But as Monkeydo said the White Widow is good. I just harvested some and it makes my finger tips giggle so it distracts me for a moment. I'm still the tin man thou, just smiling.

I'm all for Blue Dream or White Window. But that's just my opinion. I judge by myself and I remember feeling better with them when I was being treated for my anxiety disorder. But you know, there's a good chance it was just self-inflicted so I'm not sure about them. Maybe you could really use something with more cbd. But really, I think you just need to experiment on your own.

As others have mentioned it really will come down to how your system reacts to different strains. The terpene profile also has a lot to do with it too.

I suffer from chronic pain due to disk prolapse so I shoot for strains higher in myrcene, limonene and Caryophyllene, there are others responsible for helping reduce inflammation, I also have a fairly high tolerance and find I get relief with higher thc strains that I have let go a little longer through the harvest window, that way there is a touch more CBN produced and that helps relax my muscles and calm the nerves.

For a new grower I think you know what I'm going to say but I would highly recommend White widow or a nice indica heavy hybrid. But it really will come down to trying a few and once you find one that works I would research the terpene profile and see which are most prominent and then look for strains with similar profiles. Good luck Smile

I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.
