Is this bud rot?  

looks ok mate, but break the bud open, if it falls apart easily, its mouldy. Try and get us a better pic of the inside of the bud

The dead fan leaves do look a bit suspect but.. are you seeing any little teeny strands embedded in the bud? Like really really tiny...they look like super thin threads that run between gaps in the bud structure - the mycelium of the Botrytis. If you pry the bud away from the stem, do you see any brown discolouring/fuzzy bits? Do the buds in the suspect areas kinda just 'crumble' when you squeeze or touch them? If that's the case then yeah, that's rot. These are some pics of some bad rot I had in a recent plant for reference. I'd bust up the buds tho (carefully), and see what the area closest to the stem looks like.

But honestly, from those pics, it kinda just looks like the tops are a bit more ripe/colourful. That definitely happens too.

to me but as this is only my second grow just wanted to be sure. All the tops are that color which is different to my first grow (same Royal Crematic auto). Mind you, I did leave them 8 days longer this time so hopefully it's just as Temple said and they're just more ripe and colorful.

looks ok to me mate, sorry for the late reply was in an interview. It would be grey and colourless if it was bud rot, with white fluff in there too. I think youre good
