Howdy folks hope you're all stoned out your nut I'm interested in growing my own for medicinal purposes. I'm greener than the gear you're probably toking rn.

My budget is piss poor employment support allowance & it's been cut 3 times already this year. Tories are c*nts.

Okay that's the political shit out the way let's get talking. I heard tomato tents are the best option. They come with all the extras required for success. Thing is they're expensive on a tight budget. So I'm now saving the pennies and thought I'd take the opportunity to get as much info as I can muster in the meantime. Obviously information is paramount as it's clearly become a PhD with honours degree subject to learn and I'm thick as shit.

Anyways thanks for listening and any information that will help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Thank you for the welcome. My main query about this is what is the best soil and nutrients. How often do you feed them. How do I know if I've got a dud seed that I'm trying to grow.

well you will only know after you plant it lol. But most seeds are good mate.

Soil is the cheapest way to grow, a bag from B n Q, fill a pot plant a seed, and water it a couple of times a week. Transplant as it get bigger, and you wont need food until its in flower.

So it's no that difficult as I thought ? I'm guessing getting the correct environment for growing i.e. a tomato tent or similar is clearly the main benefits between success or failure. Thanks bro I'm optimistic about my chances now.

Just my 2 cents here but even a white cupboard could house a small set up. U just need air flow and some light. If they cant breathe they cant grow. If they dont have light....they also wont grow.

Stay tuned here....there's some good advice here for sure and it's super friendly man....love this place. It's really easy....and easy to overthink....remember this.....they are weeds....they will live....but to live with Grade AAAA flowers....is a bit harder.

Not really between success & failure...more like compared to a plant with a yield of 50grams & one of 250grams...Cannabis is a member of the Nettle family and will grow anywhere but to get the best out of it i.e massive buds...you have to get the environment right & the feeds right, this is where the skill comes in...

Light , fresh air & water is all they really require to grow 🙂

I'll be honest bro I doubt I've got the time & energy left to another learning curve. I genuinely thought it was easy it's not. My condition worsens daily so I might be best trying to locate a vendor instead

It's up to you mate. Growing your own will save you money in the long run. It will take a little work, but IMO it's much less hassle then hunting good weed all the time. We are here to help if you need us anytime mate. It up to you 🙂

@macky I've just learned that there's full grow tent kits available on Amazon cheaper than the tomato tent. Perhaps once I've got this and set-up I'll be more optimistic. It's difficult bro coz my energy levels are lower every day. I'll keep you posted 👍

lol!! I thought you were saying tomato tent to be inconspicuous lol. Full set cost about £250 mate. Grow in soil, and you only need to water them every few days. not a lot to do. Maybe we can get you a mentor, and they will guide you through the soil grow step by step if you like

yeah bro i been eyeing the kits up on amazon but i must say for the kit i was gonna get i compared it to getting it all individually from amazon i was able to get slighty better equipment than they had offered in the kit for only 10 or 20 quid more, i would advise before clicking by on one of the kits you have a good look at what your getting in the kit. it was only after speaking with macky and showing him what i was looking at he pointed it out to me.

Theres a guy in USA who sells automated dwp systems. Apart from changing the water, it does it all for you.. Mite be worth doing hydro if you struggle with strength.. Less hassle..

Hi mate welcome to percys. If I can offer one bit of advice from someone that’s learnt the hard way it’s source all the set up yourself try not to be seduced by the everything is here just click buy. More than likely you’ll pay double. It’ll be worth it in the long run. You maybe better in soil like macky says, I water 2 times a week possibly 3 just depends on how they look. and for ease I’m gonna say grow autos with good genetics. There’s plenty of strains out there you’re bound to find a good one for you. But yeah do a bit of research on an affordable good light and half your battle is won.  If you need help mate just reach out and one of us (if not all of us) will help 💛✌️

its a lot more hassle than it sounds tbf mate lol. Youd still have to add water to the res and monitor ph and EC fluctuations right?

I dont. But most do. Was just thinking of his situation.. Automated seemed less stressfull, and a option. I know a few disabled people who use simular automated setups, to ease bending etc. Just a thought.
