Hullooooooo, my name is Susu. I have a problem in that Neem oil always destroys my plants, and causes the leaves to curl and dry, with their tips turning into long, dry, black, brittle spikes.  I gave my plants two treatments of neem, before they started to curl up and die. So I did not bother with a third treatment with the Neem (1tsp:1litre water+ drops of Castile soap). The spider mites continue to thrive and an oblong brown-black,1 mm Long creature has appeared amongst them.  In the past I have tried concoctions of lavender oil, rosemary oil, peppermint oil, red hot pepper sauce, Hydrogen peroxide 3%, and Castile soap; and still the bugs thrive.  I bought live predators, but the spider mite always had the high hand!  We’ve smoke bombed them, and sprayed everywhere with 20 chlorine tablets in 5 litres of water.  ... And still they persist, multiply and thrive!  What to do?

Hi @susu Welcome to Percys!
I'm still a New Grower as well, but sure someone with more knowledge than I will chime in.
As always, Pics will help if possible.

Hi @susu, lots of questions first but we should be able to sort this out. Like Mr Kryton mentioned, pictures always help us help you better so if you can please upload some pics. What kind of neem oil are we using and how often is it applied. Sounds like you are dealing with thrips now as well. The treatments for both are similar. Are you trying to combine all these treatments in one? Sounds like a lot going on. An important step is to find out where these are coming from.

Im take a guess and say them small long black things are fungus gnats that passed larva stage now and about to become an adult that capable of laying eggs,

If it is fungus gnats these will be killing you plant off rather then the neem oil potentially

Hydrogen peroxide 3% food grade  could be affective for you if neem oils not cutting it, just make sure you only do top layer of the soil with it,

otherwise can try the mosquito bits off amazon too pricey but effective if soaked in water then soak effective plant

Spider mites you may just need to buy even more predators off amazon that eat them off and die off when they all gone,

Sticky yellow pads are a must for sure

Hi Susu, welcome to the community.

With fungus gnats I've had success with yellow sticky pads and little bowls with vinegar in the plant pots and on the tent floor - the sooner you can put these in the quicker you can get them under control as they multiply incredibly quickly once they get going. I've never had the displeasure of dealing with spider mites so that's where my knowledge ends I'm afraid.

I'm sure others will weight in with other options and as Monkeydo says, pictures are always always helpful!

I dealt with a few last year and I used soapy water in a spray bottle, spay the  like the under side of fan leaves and where you can see them then dab of with a soft towel the bubbles normally collect them and then it's a matter of whipping away what you can see by eye don't do this if your in flower though I done this a couple weeks into veg and it worked a treat there,ll be a million better things to do no doubt but it's the option I went cheap and cheerful lmao

Wish you all the best mate good luck

And keep it popping Thumbs Up
